Griot's Garage Microfiber Fast Pads

Yeah they look just like them...B and S probably is the manufacturer.

At least there are going to be more choices--more choices are always good.

Also, I saw in an e-mail showing the GG MF pads that Lake Country is going to release their new pads soon. Saw them in person; really well constructed. (designed with the Rupes in mind)

Looks like finally offer a 5" DA backing plate and pads. Better late than never...

5" Orbital Conversion Kit - Griot's Garage

Hard to tell exactly from the picture but they look to be about a inch thick?

Thin in in...

But the Griot's shouldn't have any problem maintaining pad rotation even if they are thick than the LC Flat and CCS pads.

I'll have to update this thread, probably one of the most often threads I post for people new to machine polishing....

5 inch Backing Plates on Meguiar's, Griot's and Porter Cable DA Polishers

Here's some pictures showing the size of different backing plates on the popular Meguiar's Griot's and Porter Cable DA Polishers.

The Griot's and Meguiar's DA Polishers come with 6" backing plates and the Porter Cable by itself does not come with a backing plate.

If you want to use 5.5" foam pads on any of these tools you'll need to remember to order a separate backing plate when your order your polishers.

Hi Mike
I just wanted to confirm the new 5.5" and 6.5" Griot's Garage Pads are 1" thick. Great post on pad thickness and it's relevance to performance! You are correct sir!

Me too. Griots makes some ok products and some good products. I will say that their pads always work well for me, and I bet the MF will too. They are great about product inquiries as well as standing behind their products.

I just got the 5" and 3.5" Griots fast cutting pads. 99% sure they're BnS MF pads without the foam.
