Nice sized southern black racer! Opened the door up and...slither...slither...in he came! I sat on my detailing seat and waited for him to come out and decide to leave!

What did you use on him, Scott?

Looks he's beading nicely now. :)

No problem social distancing there

Non-poisonous snake, Aaryn.

If it were, I'd think Scott wouldn't have been such a good photographer. Lol

So no foam finger reading "Snakes are #1"?
That would be a negative!

That’s cool. I was waiting to see an alligator. Didn’t see any while there for DF. Even went looking for some.

Who cares about snakes when you have spiders bigger than dinner plates?!

The Avondale Spider ... only found in Avondale, which is a suburb of Auckland (near the top of the North Island) & although massive, relatively harmless apparently but I’m sure they could easily eat a person. Very rare which is a Good thing though coz I’m no good with Spiders!

There are supposed to be Black Widows here but extremely uncommon, & the Katipo which is a close relative of the Black Widow but they are our only poisonous ones.
Trapdoor spiders are also rare & only found around Christchurch here in the South Island but not poisonous. (still eat people, just not poisonous)

Nothing too seriously scary down here in terms of beasties ...

We didn’t see any Alligators on our vacation either mate, although I was talking with a Disney World bus driver who was saying he had never seen so many Fire Ant Mounds before .... I believe they’re not too friendly either.
