Has anyone actually tried the Chemical Guys J-97 $999.00 wax?

So Andrew, what do you personally use?

Personally right now, because it is winter I use Exo, finished with Pete's 53. In the Summer time I use CG 50/50. I am considering getting Swissvax Mirage or the Concorso Concours Wax, maybe a Zymol one, come spring I will make my mind up. Have to take a look at booth of them in the jar to really decide which one I want.

CG has a more expensive wax than J97 that's been available overseas for a little while now and not yet available here and thats Kore Dark and Kore Light. I've seen the box at sema and its so beautiful.

I have yet to see a sensible person using the super exotic waxes... as others have said, the differences are very small when comparing a high end wax with an exotic one so the only people I have encountered using it are the people who will actively inform people about how their wax costs $XXXX as opposed to those who just want a good look.

In any case, you don't have to sell many $1k pots to make it worthwhile!!

Looking at your sig your choice of wax makes perfect sense and btw, great taste in cars, please tell me the C63 is black?! Nice upgrade from the Lexus SUV, not that the Lexus is a bad car but the ML is a "step above":xyxthumbs:

Judging by your list I take it your a wax guy and not a sealant guy?

WOOOOOOOOOOOW! Regular price of a little over $2500 and is now on sale for $1952, what a bargain! I know marketing is a part of the game, but a box that's held together with screws, although very cool, is not something too important to me. I'd assume those who can afford to use this wax have a special box to keep their valueables in, right, LOL!....I think they call it a safe.

Even if they offered a "sample size", it would still cost well over $1k, so out of the reach for alot of us here for sure.Come to think of it, what would enough product to do one wax job cost you and how would it be packaged?

I bought 6 tubs myself. The best part is that it gives you a high 5 when you are done waxing

Is it a Black Series car? No unfortunately :( I believe there was only 100 of those cars imported to Canada. The cars colour is Palladium Silver. In this post I am doing some work on it. I actually got to drive an ML63 at what mercedes calls a "power tour". Basically its two car carriers of AMG's that go around canada. You and 10 others get to drive the cars in a convoy trading cars. They had everything expect S-class, CL-class and G-wagon. Anyways the ML63 had me sold, when the windows are down and you floor it, you hear the turbos spool :D
I do badly want a G63 or a G65, but the $ price is out of my reach!
As far as LSP. I am a bit of both! Winter time when theres a lot of salt, dirt and other muck on the road, I use a sealant. In the spring summer, I use waxes, although the way Exo turned out on the Lexus, I am slowly being won over! lol

LMAO

I have a wooden pot of Dodo Juice Supernatural. I threw everything else out. You use so little of it during application it will last for years.

I actually mean't the color, not the series but your color is the other "official MB color" IMO. Seems MB's show best in black and silver. That "Power Tour" sounds like a lot of fun!!

As far as LSP'S go, well, I tend to use nuba's when its cooler outside and sealants in the summer due to heat and nuba's maybe melting away.

BTW, SUCKS NOT HAVING HOCKEY!

Man it was such a blast!! They even had a Black SLS!!! soooooo awesome.
My favourite MB colour is the Iridium Silver (lighter one) and the Diamond White. I also think the cars have their specific colours they show best in. For example the G-wagon is best in black, ML is best in light silver, class is best in silver CLS best in black, and the CL in blue.

For LSP's do you commonly do the Sealant followed by wax combo? I have never really thought of it melting off, be interesting to test tho!

Pay me a 1000$ and I'll do a full correction for you, and finish your car with turtle wax and I bet it would look better than if you slapped this wax on a car :P

I've never done a test but I layer a lot on my own car as this hobby is also therpy for me too, but as of right now, my last process was DG #101 w/pba, followed by BFCS and then Fuzion. We're supposed to get our first snow today, so we'll see how it goes.

As far as colors go, that SLS w/ red interior is my pic and the matte colors they've got look awesome! Last year's Chicago Auto Show had a matte gray AMG C63 AMG wagon.....AWESOME!

Post pics of the event and/or your rides and btw, would like someone who's used the title wax to chime in.

The one I drove had a red interior with CF trim!! sooooo sexy, I will look for the pics I took too, I have a video somewhere too! Oh they also had an E63 wagon, car is the number one sleeper on the road today. I believe with the colours, I know if you pay enough, they will paint it any colour, then the matte is a clear coat they spray on after.
I will be doing a photoshoot tonight and tomorrow with the cars; need pics for the website still. I will PM you the link when they're uploaded!

UPDATE!

So just to give you guys an idea, I was in my suppliers shop today, and he had the car i helped apply the crystal rock to. *Correction to original post* its his 2008 Gallardo Spyder
Camera doesn't do much justice, but heres a look at crystal rock.

Nice car for sure and nice studio but hard to tell on white for sure, looks very wet in the close-up though. I'm sure inperson you'd be able to tell a bit more for sure.

When I worked at this Lotus dealership back in home in Detroit I got to drive a pearl yellow Gallardo about 5 miles down Woodward Avenue, never going over 60 mph either, car wasn't mine, ofcoarse and I just wouldn't do that anyways. The sound of that V10 was awesome, I'd slow down to about 30 mph just get the car back up to speed......INTOXICATING!

Man I totally agree with you! Such a beautiful car as well. It actually has a carplex windshield protector on it, basically a clear bra for your windshield.

It really is hard to see on the camera, in hindsight I wish I would've taken a picture of the side, standing at the back to get the reflection off the body. For a white car, it is really glossy. I am surprised though how much orange peel there is in the OEM clear. Most cars are a lot less.

For that much money there should be NO orange peel IMO! That wrap for the windshield is very cool, wonder if its available for all cars and how much is it, too late for me as I've already had to have a chip repaired and they told me me that even though you can still see it its not going to spread.....hmmm.

Well I guess if you get a chance to see the car again you can take more pics.

No kidding! Its not like they couldn't get a quality painter...

Well my friend is actually buying the rights to the company, I will get you more information. Usually you cut them to size and are roughly $200-$500 I think, lol dont quote me on that though.

I bet a robot paints the car, fire IT and bring in a passionate human!
