have some questions on my progress

I know this is a little late, but it always best to do a test spot first. Work on one small section completing all of the steps in your planned process first. You want to make sure you can make that one section look good before going over the entire car with your first step.

Here is an example of someone going over the whole car without checking to see if there process works on one small area first. I would just hate to see you driving around with a car all micro marred up. ;)

ouch, i did a test spot with the orange pad and sip, and made sure it was doing what i wanted it to do to the swirls and it was so i did the whole car watching carefully. just got done, took me 7 hours to do the whole car with orange pad and sip.

now i cant decide if to do white pad with sip or white pad with nano?

i will get the pictures uploaded, oregon actually caught some sun today so i pulled it out and looked it over after the sip with orange pad then hit a couple spots after.
 
ok cool, will do. then nano/blue after that, right? isnt that a huge jump as well? or is it just the way things are
 
here are some pictures. i only got one good before shot that shows the swirls. any help will be appreciated. the orange peeled section on the hatch part of the car is plastic, and my plan was to just use white with sip on the bumpers and plastic parts like that. all the plastic pieces on the car just got painted about 4 months ago.

cant wait to hit it with sip and white this weekend.

It still has some marring so go with the sip/white pad, then your 106fa and blue pad

I am using Flex and I thought for severe scratches and deep ones to use the purple wool pad since I tried the orange on a BMW and it didnt really make such difference after one pass.
 
haha, im just the opposite. im getting the hang of it though.

towards the end the orange pad started getting really damp and hot, is that a sign to change pads? i had two 2x2 sections left so just kinda patted it with a towel to pick up some of the moisture.

You might have to make a couple passes with the orange to get the correction you want.

No worries. You can use anywhere from 2-6 pads of one color per car, maybe more depending on size. When your pad starts getting caked up with product, then it's time to change.

Which I did and still some scratches still there, so I thought for next time, when the car got a lot of scratches I should use the wool pad to get them easily.
I got some picture after doing couple of SIP with orange:

Move up to a more aggressive compound like Megs M105. Can you feel the scratches with your fingernail?

Actually the foamed wool will be better, it levels the paint better and will leave you with a better final finish in the end.
