What steps/process do you guys take on the compounds? Im going to be trying the process on my trucks, its a 2013 ford 150 color white.
Very hard to answer this question without seeing the paint. You need to do a test spot with various pads and products to see what corrects to your satisfaction with what technique.
If you are new to machine polishing and since you have a new truck you might want to consider HD Speed for your first time polishing--since it is an AIO it has mild abrasives and some protection built in--depending on the condidtion of your paint it may or may not remove all the swirls, but since it is mild you won't get into trouble. But you still have to do a test spot to see what technique (what machine speed, how much pressure, how many passes) and what pad are going to work best on your paint. If you do try out HD Speed make sure you top it with your favorite LSP as it's durability is only about 2 months.
As mentioned by others HD Adapt might be another alternative -- it has more cut than Polish or Speed, but will finish down really well so it would save some $$$ in that you'd only need to buy one polish to start but remember it will remove more clearcoat as any more aggressive product will.
