HD products initial impression = NOT happy!

Thanks for the pic. It does have the plug. But clearly there is something wrong with mine because your Poxy looks much much thicker than mine. The other two look the same as mine but I would be interested to see if your speed and polish have the same small bits of unmixed polish. Any chance you could stick a straw or something in them to check? Thanks for all of the help.

Just checked my Poxy, I got this back in early May. I just shook for only about a minute.

 
Mine must be bad then. That sucks. I was hoping to detail this weekend. Now I have to wait another week or so until I get a replacement. Custmsprty do your other ones , speed and polish, have any non dilutedq/mixed bits like the one in my picture. Just trying to determine if I need to return just the Poxy or all three.

No, the other products are fine and I got them in May and June from AG.
 
Before you send them back try this--put a 1/2" ball bearing in each bottle and shake for a few minutes. If that doesn't do it there is definately something wrong and I'm sure AG or HD will replace the product.

HD Speed and HD Polish are normally slightly lumpy... like a quality pancake batter that is perfectly mixed and ready to cook. Speed is a little more lumpy than Polish. It looks fine to use from your pictures. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks. That's a little better news. So now maybe I only have to send back the poxy. That said, I want to detail this weekend. Since I won't get my replacement poxy by then, what is a good - somewhat readily available topcoat to put on? I have both Meguiar's tech wax and also NXT. Woukd it be ok to put either of those over it? I also have Meguiar's gold class carnuba in a can that I could hand wax over it. Thoughts? Or should i use something different? Thanks again.

You are fine with any of those products
 
That is strange, I have a sample of Poxy that sits in my very warm garage and it is so thick I can barely get it out of the container.
 
From your description and pictures, I'd say something looks wrong.

I've only used the 3D HD Adapt and Poxy and I found the consistency of the product to be like a thick hand lotion. Not runny at all.

I tested the 3D HD Polish but didn't use it but it too had a lotion like consistency.

All three products had a uniform appearance and consistency, that is no separation or lumpy bits in them.


I was actually impressed with the formulas. Contact customer care and cite this thread. I'd call them instead of e-mail.

If this is an issue then the right thing to do is to notify the 3D company and make them aware of the issue as they are a stand-up company and will want to know of any issues so they can address them.

Poxy can separate in the summer due to warmer temperatures. Try moving it indoors, then shaking like mad. You won't need much to cover the vehicle. HD Speed can be clumpy, still works wonderfully.
 
My hd speed and hd polish have always been a little lumpy. I got mine about 3-4 years ago, they work fine.

Not trying to be rude at all and I appreciate any assistance, but THIS IS NOT fixable by shaking or stirring.

The product was and has been inside and brand new. I have shaken this thing til the cows come home...I also stirred it vigorously for quite a long time. I am fairly certain I just got a bad product.

It will be interesting to see what 3D says the consistency is supposed to be because Mike indicated that his were mixed well and smooth, but several others here have commented that theirs were lumpy. Going to call 3D shortly and hopefully get an answer.
