HD products initial impression = NOT happy!

It will be interesting to see what 3D says the consistency is supposed to be because Mike indicated that his were mixed well and smooth, but several others here have commented that theirs were lumpy. Going to call 3D shortly and hopefully get an answer.
Let us know what 3d says I am curious.

Talked to Autogeek. They said the cake batter consistency of the HD products is normal. They did agree that the Poxy was way too runny. They are sending me another overnight! Thanks for all of the help guys.

Shake the products VERY WELL!!

Shake the products VERY WELL!!
Guys - Shaking the product in this case - DID NOT and WOULD NOT fix the issue. I shook these things for no kidding the better part of about 45 minutes total - no kidding. In addition, I stirred these products for about 10 minutes a piece - again - no exaggeration. According to Autogeek, they will not be smooth, it is normal for them to remain somewhat lumpy. The Poxy in my case remained runny no matter what amount of shaking or stirring I did. I have to commend Autogeek's customer service here because they are sending the new one overnight so I can have it to detail this weekend and they are sending me a return label to send back the bad one. I think the biggest piece of info in this thread is that lumps are apparently normal in these products. Which I found very interesting because none of my Meguiar's products ever had lumps - unless they were old and separated - and even then, shaking them generally got the lumps gone and a smooth consistency.

I appreciate all of the help and especially the pics of the products and their consistency from others who have them!

I don't know if anyone has already mentioned it, but you can put a ball bearing or two in the bottle and shake. That usually helps it mix considerably faster and better.

Since you still have the old poxy, i wonder if sticking it in the fridge would stiffen it up at all? Just thinking. Used mine again today. Seemed a little more runny than last time i used it

Lumps are not normal with the polishes. I have all the products you mention.

All I can tell you is what others have mentioned int his thread, and more importantly what AutoGeek told me this afternoon during my phone call.

Have you ever opened the top, stuck a stir stick or something in, and pulled it up to see what you get? I ask because if you just squeeze out a dollop, you don't generally see the lumps/unmixed parts. If you open it and stir it with a stick or something, you will see it.

Good question, I'll try it for grins and post my results!

With so many great products out there why would you mess with this??

Ok, put it in freezer for about 20 minutes. Bottle and contents were plenty cold when I took it out, but very little change in consistency.

Thanks for giving it a shot. Hopefully your next bottle works out better for you

Mainly because from what I understand it's a great product and sometimes stuff happens. I have used and have a lot of the Meg's stuff. And it works great. I also have used 3m perfect-it. And it too works great. That doesn't mean I have never had any issues with a bad product. Autogeek, as well as this forum, responded fabulously and is overnighting me a replacement. I can't wait to try it out this weekend. And I'll have another tool in my toolbox of great products to detail with!

I suggest that you put a roller ball into each bottle and shake. This works like a spray paint can, with the rattle ball inside the can to stir the product.

Better yet, I use a couple small stainless steel hex nuts. They help mix up products really well. I don't think they would help in the original posters case, though.

I do this now with all my products as it saves time and I don't wear out my arm shaking the bottle forever.
