HD Speed vs. Boss Finishing Sealant

Beat me to this question!! I use Speed with an Orange B&S pad and get great correction on hard VW clear coat. Sometimes I feel as though I get more cut with Speed than
straight HD Polish.

Probably some defects being filled.

Thanks for the link to the chart. I noticed that HD Polish(#4) has more cutting ability than HD Speed(#2). Is that correct? I would think it's the other way around. I'm relatively new at this game so hoping others will chime in.

Thanks!

HD speed is rumored to be 25% HD Poxy and 75% HD Polish from very reputable sources. Since HD Poxy has no cut, HD speed should naturally have less cut than HD Polish. I find it odd that it falls to a 2 but its all judgment based and open to interpretation. Also that chart does not tell you the pad that was used. They may have used a black pad with hd speed and a white with hd polish while they both have almost identical cut.

HD Speed is just a mixture of HD Polish and Poxy.

Not true. Actually, HD Speed supposedly has some Adapt in it too, according to HD. It was posted on here somewhere. HD Speed has more cut than HD Polish.

Edit: Nevermind. Guess I read wrong? I could of swore an HD Rep said otherwise. According to that chart, I'm wrong.

It's a mix of 75% HD Polish and 25% Poxy. This is based on the 3D reps over on Autopia's forums.

That would actually make sence.

According to David Fermani who is more than just familiar with HD Speed

HD Speed is a proprietary blend of technologies from Cut, Adapt, Polish & POXY. It's more than just an AIO and can perform many duties like paint cleansing, gloss enhancement, paint protectant, final polishing and can also act as a primer for other HD/3D protectants. I personally finish all my correction jobs with Speed unless I'm using a coating. I also feel that POXY over Speed looks better than POXY over Polish so feel free to use either as you see fit.

I also read that HD speed is not just a combination of HD polish and HD Poxy, but yes it does have an HD adapt component in it and even some other goodies. If my memory serves I think it was David F of HD... who actually owns an HD detailing shop and perhaps is the HD speed guru of gurus on this and other forums.

There isn't much incentive to mix your own speed anyway, its the same price or cheaper than the polish in most cases. All of their polishes are about the same price. what would be cool is mixing Poxy with something that finishes even better than HD polish to make Jewling Wax. Or mixing adapt/cut into speed to make it more aggressive when a stronger pad isn't enough. cool product line. i really want to play with all of their products.

David F spoke of using HD speed as a jeweling wax with a rotary buffer. Said he uses HD speed after using HD compounds or polishes to give it that extra pop.

David Fermani told me it's not as easy just to mix polish and proxy to get speed. Whether he didn't want to admit it to cut sales on speed, or it's the truth, I don't know.
