I have been thinking of switching Opti-Coat to 2K clear coat for a while. My issue is that I don't do many headlight restorations, maybe 5 per season and the 2K clear is only good for a day or two once mixed.
2K clear coat is only good for 24 hours during summer (once used) & 5 days at cool storage 6°C

How do you get so much business? I am sure word of mouth is a you main advertising but how did you start to grow your clientele?

I think they have periodic inspections there and headlights are part of it. Plus he lives in an area that can be harsh on them, sand storms and high UV index.

Never heard of periodic inspections (just a normal test on cars once a year or each 10,000km, for new cars first after 20,000km, on classics simple inspection twice per year only to see if engine starts & breaks work).
Sand storms happen 1-2 times per year (not every year) & last few days.
High UV index here is same like in Quebec in the winter, what really damages the headlights is a heat outside during summer, high/low PH balance in the car wash water & cheap soap, other environmental factors, Made in China plastics is one of the main reasons after hot summer, their 2K clear coating is unstable, not hard enough to withstand sun & heat.
On high cla$$ cars this problem is very little almost none & if chinese headlights break after 1-2 years, on expensive cars after 10 years.

Another day, more 1 minute headlight restorations.

Faces in the neighborhood came for a gallon of 5W30 motor oil & additives ( I can beat any wholesalers prices), so I dumped them 100$ headlights restoration they don't need :laughing: & told them for 1 week not to wash the car my plastic sealer needs to heal, they made smart looks like: Yeah, of course we know about it.

If last winter my record was 144 cars per month, as of yesterday it's over 160. For some reason people like my 1 minute system. I spoke to a bankrupt car care shop & headlights restoration business owner's daughter, she said they worked with VW garage & maximum per day they did 4 cars LOL

Another micro restoration strategy that I made into fashion now is door handles scratches removal, let's call it Handlebar detailing :laughing:

Well, this was a small deviation from 1 minute & took 10 minutes but pay is like others get for all day detailing :buffing: plus no equipment, all easy.

Folk cleaned plastics with acid wheel cleaner to renew it :laughing: I restore it in 1 minute plus he pays double for headlights

It looks like previous restorer gone mad with cheap clear coat, I wipe it out

Finishing on the positive note, other silver Lexus GS 350 headlights & handlebar scratches guy forwards his friend for the same treatment

Every morning I wake up I have some micro detailing things to do from arranging a day before, I only open my eyes & few hundred$ are waiting for me.
Time is priceless, all I am ready to give in such projects is few minutes here & there.
Today I made 4 cars restoring headlights plus one lady from the neighbourhood wanted me to check & fill her car with power steering fluid, engine oil/coolant, windshield water. Hello, Smile, $, Goodbye. And then one guy asked to polish his 2007 C 230 Kompressor Mercedes star & exhaust I wanted to move him for tomorrow but he wants now, OK buddy come because soon I am leaving. I do many crazy micro detailing things I doubt anybody else in the world does, I found my niche & people love my 1 minute system, if I would offer most of my daily customers headlight restoration that takes few hours & cost 1$ nobody would agree to leave their cars, bikes - my people want to drink cup of coffee & go. Their time is priceless for them too, time is money I only understood it thanks to 1 minute headlight restoration system. I do nothing all day long & have time for nothing even if I do a lot :laughing:

I havn't finish yet he already pushes 25$ tip on top of nice upfront payment, sorry, but I don't even know his name, in fact I don't remember nobody's names but all of them know my name & recommend my 1 minute system further

To save time I move around the neighbourhood (Old Port of Tel Aviv) with my good friend's illegal VIP taxi, Danny are you ready to bring me home please, 3-4 minutes drive by, by foot about 25 minutes

While doing a search on headlight restoration kits I somehow ended up in here... This is by far the weirdest thread I’ve ever seen on this forum. I can’t believe this dude posted a total of 735 pictures of nothing but headlights. And the majority of the after shots don’t even look good. Lmao.
