Headlight Upgrade - LED replacing Halogen

My LEDs look nothing like those, they have 6 flat chips on either side in a staggered setting (one set of 3 is higher on the "bulb" than the other). Were it not for the reflector "ladle" blocking a good chunk of light, they would be perfect (No one has "flashed" me and I've had them in for over a week).

BUT ... I have a 'dead spot' directly in the center of the beam pattern, but I am going to correct that with some very tight patterned LED driving lights that will be aimed to take out the dead spot(s) without blinding anyone.

Don, this is because you do not have a H11 bulb for your Camaro. You have a H13 which is a dual-filament and completely different design.

Just because you do not get flashed does not mean that your bulbs are good. It just means that A) No one has cared to flash you and/or B) your headlights are aimed down so that there is little to no glare.

Here is an older version low beam (Cree LED) and high beam (Luxeon MZ LED). The headlamp is a H13 Chevy Cruze (1st gen).

Notice how awkward the beam shape is? Notice how high it is? This would have to be massively aimed downward to keep from glaring other drivers. Which puts the peak intensity right in front of the vehicles foreground with no long distance illumination.

Don, you still have not mentioned which LED bulbs you have??

I think they are an 'off brand' here is a pic of the box:
(PS: I know the engine compartment is filthy, that's the trade off you get for having the car rust-proofed properly)

Don, please get those things out of your headlamps asap! :(

It will have to wait until after I get the fogs installed :dunno: . Even with the shortcomings I mentioned, they are still better than the halogen H13s. The stock bulbs had a very tight, but very dim pattern, with no light hitting the ground in front of or to the sides of the car. I can't be descriptive enough when I say the halogens were terrible. Even the old, non-halogen sealed beam headlights I had years ago were better.
