"Hellaflush" and now "Hellaglossy" - 2013 Scion FRS Corrected and Coated with CQuartz UK

You did an excellent job. Crazy that sf4500 removed all those defects.
Not detail related, but "hellaflush" looks helladumb.

:iagree:It's funny that you say that, because I said the exact same thing when I was chatting with Zach. I really don't see the point of doing this.

Anyways Zach, another killer job dude! Keep up the good work dude.

Looks fantastic!! Crazy how soft that paint was. The stance is a little too aggressive for me but looks great either way.
Thanks! ... yeah, this isn't my favorite look personally, but I can appreciate it. Cars are about expressing yourself, so to each his own :)

HARD!

Looks great Zach. You rocked this one. I love me some FRS/BRZ.:dblthumb2:
Soft! is what the paint was :) thanks!

That shine really is a mile deep. Thanks for the info on the paint softness. Will remember to start with SF4500 and go from there, when I come across one. It finished out very nicely.

How do you like the gilmour foam gun?
^I've talked to some others who have worked on them and no one else claimed the paint was this soft, so maybe this one was a fluke. Either way, never a bad idea to prepare for the worst I suppose. The gilmour is perfect for instances such as degreasing before coating or when you're just too lazy to drag the pressure washer out, but the foam lance is definitely a better choice when you want nice thick foam.

Wow that FRS is poppin! Thanks for sharing...
Thanks for reading!

Looks great, but damn that is some major camber on those back tires!
-7.1 degrees according to the owner... so yeah, pretty crazy

Looking Good!
:dblthumb2:

Nice work!!
:dblthumb2:

Beautiful work as always Zach! That gloss is 10 miles deep!

Car looks great as well. Like what the owner did with it but the front needs more work. IE, more stance. Lol
Thanks, Mike! Yeah, he is already shopping for new wheels I believe.

That paint is hella wet!
Hella! :props:

Awesome work like always buddy:)
:dblthumb2:

Hey Zach, car came out great, great job!

what ratios are you using in the gilmoar gun? I've been trying to find the sweet spot so to speak lol!
Whenever I use any of my foam devices (gun or canon) I use 3-5oz of shampoo and then set the sprayer to max dilution (ie most product)

Beautiful work buddy, car looks amazing. Just an outside detail nothing to the inside? Just curious how long did it take for everything.
Interior was quick and basic... light vacuum, wiped down with 303

DOPE work as always!

Side note: I'm not a mechanic/auto tech but did he lower the car? If so, the back tires look angled out and might wear fairly unevenly.
The car came like that from the factory... you think he should take it back? :/

Great work on that red, nice write up as well.

Instead of me saying adjectives to your work, consider I agree plentifully with everything you wrote (mile deep shine, etc!).

Congratulations on this one.

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!

You mean...hella camber???? Like smack, that front needs more work. Some spacers to make it "hella flush"
just hella everything

Car would be much more appreciative without the rear camber and width. People outside of that "trend" really find it ignorant. At least he didn't destroy the body/fenders.

But great job! With only 3500 miles, he really needs to correct his wash and care.
While it isn't my favorite style personally, it doesn't bother me. I enjoy cars because there is so many things people can do to them to make it their own... let him enjoy his car as you enjoy the things you do to yours. :props:

Are you from NorCal by any chance?
AttentiontoDetailingPeoria... which is Central Illinois (few hours south of Chicago)

Yup, I was definitely surprised that SF4500 knocked it out so well.

:iagree:It's funny that you say that, because I said the exact same thing when I was chatting with Zach. I really don't see the point of doing this.

Anyways Zach, another killer job dude! Keep up the good work dude.
Thanks, Kevin!

"hella" is a Northern Cali, Bay Area thing.

The word itself? Maybe it originated there, but it was a commonly used word back when I was in high school... "this class is hella boring" lol

I'm pretty sure I have a few years on you Zach. As far as I know it originated here. Got it from my uncle in the early 80's. I remember talking with family from Connecticut and they used to actually give me a hard time when I said "hella". Who really knows for sure though. Hella funny!

Yeah - I'd imagine it was a west coast thing... just pointing out that it was a commonly used word around where I grew up too :)

That red paint looks amazing. Gotta love soft Toyota paint.

I know I'm preaching to the choir at this point but hella flush is the stupidest thing ever. People who live near me in NY who are slammed have to drive around every pot hole or else. I just don't see the point of it. Also not a fan of the Toyota badge swap.

LOL, it actually originated in Northern Cali (where im from), central valley area to be exact, not the bay area.

Anyways outstanding job. I've seen some of your other work, but I had to comment on this one. Im a sucker for Red cars. Great work man.....HELLA TIGHT!

Wow, looks sick.

How come you ipa, wash, and then eraser? Why not just ipa or eraser? Not questioning just want to understand for more knowledge. Thank you!

Not sure his reasoning, but I dawn wash to help remove oils and dust, make it easier for IPA with less fear of marring soft paint

Great job, Zach! You sure got some great correction with 4500, especially since most only consider it a "jeweling" polish. Just goes to show, right?

I gotta say, that's some crazy negative camber on the rear... I imagine the tire wear isn't all that great. You would think the negative camber on the steer wheels is one thing for corners, but on the rear seems like it just would add more unnecessary wear. What were your thoughts?

I can't agree more, it looks ridiculous and the ride is horrible. That car wouldn't last a day down here in the Tampa Bay area with our horrible roads. That's what I call hella fail.

Great work as usual Zach!

Being stanced is just a type of lifestyle for these ppl.

Form>Function is where it's at.

As far as streets go, you just learn to adapt to them. It's really not that hard. Low and slow is how we go :dblthumb2:

Serial.

I have a drift car, race car, and a stanced car. No F's given.

People build for different reasons.

Looks incredible!

I'd imagine the paint was frustrating because of the fact that the car is actually manufactured by Subaru. I assume that means they paint it as well, and most of us know what's up with Subaru paint.

I just wrote this in another thread, so I will copy it here....

Personally, if I am doing a 1 step correction with a product that is not particularly oily and does not leave much dust, I will just jump right to eraser.

If I am compounding and creating a lot of dust or using a polish like SF4500 that is super oily, I will presoak with diluted IPA, foam with a heavy mixture of citrus wash (or IXSS which I just purchased) with possibly a little APC added to the reservoir, rinse very thoroughly, blow dry, and then do an eraser wipe down. The foaming/drying portion only takes an extra 30 minutes or so, so it would be silly to blow it off if you've used a substantially oily product or need to remove a lot of compounding dust. The eraser or IPA wipe down is much easier after this process as you've already removed all or at least the majority of the oils remaining.

Not sure his reasoning, but I dawn wash to help remove oils and dust, make it easier for IPA with less fear of marring soft paint

I would not advise the use of dawn... it has been shown to leave many surfactants on the surface.

Dawn is for dishes... not cars. A product like Iron X Snow Soap would be a better choice.
