Hello all,

I didnt want to post, but I am humble and my results are less than stellar! I spent my summers as a kid in my uncle's body shop detailing all of his cars. He strictly used meguiars, and so have I until two years ago. I did everything by hand. He inspected everything, but he gave me the money. As I got older, I moved up to a orbital buffer with the big 10" foam backing pad and terry cotton bonnets. Good results, but never used a light to inspect. I feel guilty leaving meguiar's, but I wanted to try something new. I am currently using a PC 7424 and LC pads with the klasse AIO and HG sealant topped with pinnacle carnuba.

I washed and clayed with meg's, and followed up with the products above. I decided to try the light, and my truck is covered in spider web swirls. I want to start over. I like the idea of layering synthetic and carnuba. Not to mention I still have the klasse and pinnacle (they were very hard to get off).

I think the problem is me and my pads. They are old, but I always washed them in the washing machine. I always used a machine to apply and remove wax. Looks like I might need to switch to MF towels to remove the wax. I have watched hours of the AG videos tyring to educate myself. At this point however, I am in no shape to touch anyone else's car until I perfect mine. I love information, so hit me!:buffing:

2 words- test spot

Maybe the KAIO isn't aggressive enough.

If I go with the Pinn swirl remover, or the MEg's DA MF how do I implement the synthetic/carnauba on top of the swirl removers?

Is it nescessary to use MF for wax removal?

Welcome to AG!
Yeah best combo is M105/205, that should take care of the swirls on your car. I would also recommend getting 5.5 inch flats. Maybe 2-3 yellows, 4-6 oranges, 4-6 whites, and 2-3 blues.

That should be enough to get you started, since you already have other products.

Well after you polish a car you should do a IPA wipe down so you can get any oils and fillers out. Then just apply sealant and wax onto car. Its best to let the sealant cure before applying your lsp.

And try to buy the best MF you can afford. Good one are def worth it in the long run because of the less head aches.

Edit:
If you find it hard to remove sealant or wax try spraying a little detail spray over it.

Some other things, I gave the detailing brush a go, and it pretty much ate my pads up even with light pressure. Using the light to inspect your work, all I can say is wow! I really suck. If I start over, should I re-clay?

There is no need to re clay if the surface is clean. I would just do a wash with some car soap and APC, or dawn soap to remove any dusting or wax. Then polish again, get a halogen lights so you can see if you removed the swirls.

:welcome: To Autogeek Online!

A very wise choice choosing a dual action polisher!! :props:

Klasse All-In-One is a truly great product but in my opinion lacks the ingredients to perform paint correction at most levels. Klasse All-In-One is designed to more or less clean the paint removing minor oxidation and add a little protection...but very little.

I'm sure the finish looks brighter and much shinier and that's about what you should expect to see.

A couple of great combo's I highly recommend.

Pinnacle Swirl Remover
Pinnacle Finishing Polish

Pinnacle Natural Brilliance, pinnacle car care products, souveran, signature series, carnauba, paintwork cleansing lotion, car wax, paint protection

Menzerna Power Finish PO203
Menzerna Super Finish PO106FA

Menzerna Power Finish & Super Finish Bundle, Menzerna Polishing Compounds, Menzerna PO203 & PO106FA, car polishes

A couple of nice sealants

Menzerna Power Lock
Detailer’s Pro Series Poli-Coat Paint Sealant

Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Paint Sealant, Menzerna auto sealant, car sealant, paint sealant protectant

DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant, polymer paint sealant, auto paint sealant, DP Policoat paint sealant, paint sealer
