This is crazy. I would been freaking out around 180mph

Wow 270 huh . Where could they drive it that fast? Not here in New England lol pot holes everywhere
 
Did you see it just barely passing me up, right towards the end of this run?
Was pretty close...I'm a-tellin' ya!!

That thing flat out accelerates! They were doing almost 150 in 3rd gear! 190+ in 4th!!! WOW! Awesome! I saw one of them at SEMA 2 years back. (it was at Meg's booth!) Bad to the bone!









 
Wow! Seems like it had quite a bit to go as well... with speakers in the car as well lol
 
Hennessey does not have a good reputation at all in the Mopar circles, but at least he built one good car.

Yep. This was where they ran the test.

If you read the news reports on it, they said it was STILL ACCELLERATING at 270! The only reason they didn't go faster was because the driver ran out of room. They figure if they ran it on that 8-mile oval track Michellin owns in France (?) that VAG used on the Veyron it would have gone much faster.

Too bad it doesn't qualify for the Guiness record.
 
Oh that ain't all that fast. Look how slow the white lines go by.....but then again those are 300 feet long! :LOL:

The fastest speed I've personally driven was 168mph while working in Germany.....FAST ENOUGH for ME!
 
saw this, absolutely incredible. I'm not sure why they didn't do a return run to qualify them for the record.

The story I read mentioned NASA wouldn't let them. Their permit was for only one pass.

Hennessey also doesn't make enough of the car for it to meet the criteria for the record. Guiness says there have to be over 30 made and I seem to remember that they only made 20-ish Venom GT's.
 
I wish he would make his own bodystyle - the Venom is just a stretched Lotus Exige with his crazy motor and tranny.

I love that car!!!!!!! And it's GM LS powered!!! Here we are shining chassis #1.

They are going to make only 29 (11 already assembled).
