Here it is! BOSS - Best of Show System

Will do, thanks for the heads up.

The Buff & Shine 4" pads are nice too, they are a little lower profile.

I run at speed 2 on my Rupes 3" and use both of those pads for applying LSP's.

When I had my PC that's the speed I ran it at too.

We wanted to shed some light on the recent change to our warranty policy.

Traditionally, Griot’s Garage primary focus has been the “pro-sumer”/weekend-warrior/DIY guy looking for the best and safest orbital for their needs. Our old warranty reflected that focus. When purchasing from Griots Garage direct, our 6-month money back guarantee was and still is no-questions asked, if you don’t like it or want it, send it back. Money back. Done. After that, the tool (or any other Griot’s Garage product) is cover for life against defect excluding normal wear and tear which has always been handled at the company’s discretion.

With BOSS, the focus has changed. THE BOSS is a more professional-grade tool and it needed a professional-grade warranty. We designed THE BOSS tools with the biggest motor around, premium NSK bearings, exceptional ergonomics and more because you guys and gals run your tools 8 hours-per-day, 7 days-a-week. Normal wear and tear has a much different meaning to you! The 6-month Money Back Guarantee stays the same, the lifetime warranty against defect stays the same. What’s been added is an industry-best, “bumper-to-bumper” warranty covering defect AND normal wear and tear for 2-years. As long as you don’t throw it off the roof of your shop or garage or drag it down the road, we’ve got you covered!

We are and always have been committed to serving our customers. The additional 2-year warranty has been added specifically for those of you who depend on your on your machines every day. Hopefully this clears up any confusion.

With a warranty like that, it makes it hard to argue against getting one!

Hey Trek, is the Fishmarket still there in Alexandria?

I spent a summer living on Pitt St. one summer back in the 1980's when my dad lived there. Had a great time that summer for sure.

I think their warranty is a great show of product confidence and concern for their costumer. I had an older gg polisher die on me recently it was at least 3 years old I didn't remember where I got it and didn't have a receipt called Griots Garage they directed me to a paper to fill out and how to send it in to get a replacement. They sent me a brand new gg6 in the box with all the stuff you would normally get as if I bought it brand new at $0 charge. they didn't hassle me didn't ask if I dropped it or did anything funny with it simply sent me a new one.

they are a top notch company with top notch products and it shows in my first hand experience and with their confidence in their own products to offer such a great worry free warrenty! with customer service like that they will always have my business and when I am in the market for a forced d/a its no question where I'm buying it from GRIOTS GARAGE!! I cant wait to get the BOSS when the funds are available! :xyxthumbs:

If you have something bad to say about Griots Garage in my opinion its either because your a troll, competitor or you simply haven't had the pleasure to use one of their great machines.

please don't quote me and say anything about what I had to say because I don't want to hear or CARE about your opinion on this matter:nomore:. This is simply how I feel and my opinion of their company.:close1:

Just sharing a post I made on another thread, and sharing some of my testing with the GG21 system. To answer some pad questions I've seen and we all invariably have with different machines and systems.

On my GG21 I first used the Griots pad. My impression, they are very durable and the lower profile assures excellent balance and smooth operation and they did the job very quickly. I would guess this was designed into the pads from their testing experience. I then ran it with a standard LC Flat pad and their was a noticeable difference in the stability and smoothness of the machine. I noticed some warble, the pad appeared to not have complete contact around the outer circumference and required additional unneeded to pressure to assure complete contact. It really likes the lower profile pads.

I then ran it with a Rupes pad. More stable than the LC pads but it definitely performs best with the lower profile Griots pad. The Griots pads are also a different foam composition. I like the Griots foam composition the best.

When I first got my Rupes machines I did the same kind of testing with their pads vs. different pads, specifically LC and Buff and Shine.

I do have another set of pads I'm going to test some time in the near future.

I'm giving two thumbs up for the Griots pads. I do wish they were a a little less $$. I'll be sure to stock up on the next AG sale. :dblthumb2:

And I'll treat them with kid gloves and clean them right away.

That being said, the Rupes and the Griots were both designed as systems.

I sell packaging systems and my mentor told me 25 years ago to quote a legend, " Son, you don't sell the razor without the blade "

But as detailers, it's in our nature to want to experiment and I will continue do so too.

Like many other forum members I try my best to put these comparisons in a positive light and steer away from negativity.

Without these great manufacturers and suppliers continuing to push the detailing envelope where we would be as detailers.

So I try to keep that in mind when I post reviews of products. Obviously I've slipped from time to time, but my intention has always been to be fair to the high quality manufacturers that AG represents and to AG as they provide us this great platform to interact and share our experiences.

For those of you who have wanted to attend Detail Fest but not been able to, this is one of the great things about it. You get to meet the suppliers and interact with them on a personal level. It's great and I enjoyed meeting the suppliers who I support at this years DF. And they were very generous with there time and with some swag. Thanks guys and gals.

I believe it's Flex or nothing when talking forced rotation DA's.
