I think the concept of a flat tax for all has some merit, should have more attention and would be cleaner and easier for the entire US.

I love the way this most recent GOP clown of the month blames this on the democratic smear machine. Doesn't that joker know that the dems would love to have him be the GOP nominee. He better look for another boogie man... Like perhaps the one in the mirror.


Here's the dream team... You heard it here first,,,Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura on a libertarian ticket. I think it will happen. Just a hunch.
 
Reading some (most) of these posts makes me worry more about the future :(

Unfortunately, Ron Paul's method really means going through a depression to get straight and then assume we can survive it but that also means he would have to get support from Congress...not likely.

Yes the system is like a hooked like a drug addict but cold turkey (collapse of the housing market, collapse of financial companies, re-freeze of financial markets since we would stop printing money, extending credit) is not probably the best way for national security.

The problem is neither side is willing to compromise enough since each is thinking of the next election -- not how to get something accomplished.
 
Our system of government is one of the greatest systems ever created. Unfortunately, it's being driven by a bunch of monkeys.

Well said and probably true but I am sure we would survive. The alternative I'm not so sure about... True about congress though.

Cain will be the reason Obama gets a second term if the GOP puts him up.
