Hmmm..... what to use.....

How about Menzerna? you guys use Flex in the episodes, both come from Germany so it makes sense

Can you do one with only carpro products and one with scholl only...
These brands make some awesome products and get less coverage especially on how to use for best results...

We know Pinnacle Wolfgang and McKees perform with few nuances...

Cheers

I'd like Mike to use Essence and top with Reload. These two products have raised a lot of discussion with love/hate opinions. Seeing the pro of all pro's put them to the test would show how they perform.

Nu Finish. That way it's safe to take it through the swirl-o-matic once a week for the whole year!!!

McKee's 37 jeweling wax would look great. Maybe topped with a carnauba like a Natty's paste(I'd go red)

I'll place another vote for Poorboys.

I use a few of their products like Bug Squash, APC, and Super Slick with Suds shampoo. In the past I've tried samples of Black Hole, Pro Polish and EX-P. After all of that, I still don't know how well products like their polishes, wheel cleaners, tire dressings, or interior products work.

Product likes like Sonax, PBL, Wolfgang etc are great, but I find their prices cost prohibitive for me in many cases. It would be nice to see a more budget friendly product line get a little attention.

Rupes system!

You know... I did a MASSIVE write-up for the RUPES company last year to showcase their new Mark II BigFoot 21 and BigFoot 15 polishers. I even brought in a WICKED cool car with LOT of CURVES.

It was very generous of RUPES to send Todd Helme and Alberto Quiroscabrera with 3 of the first Mark II polishers to come to America and I appreciate their trust.

Because people forget or haven't seen this thread, I brought in this car, we used the AT THE TIME brand new Mark II polishers to do an extreme show car makeover BEFORE these tools were launched at SEMA.

Then, true to my word I didn't move the below thread out from the Rough Draft forum (hidden from public view), to the "public" forum until the opening and start of SEMA 2015 on Tuesday morning.

So love your idea of showcasing RUPES on this cool car but been there and done that last year so I'm going to use something different this year.

Here's the write-up for the new Mark II tools performed before the tools were launched last year at SEMA

Duragloss 501 + 111 + Enviroshield?
Optimum Hyper twins + Opti-Seal?
Boss creams topped with Griot's Liquid Gloss Poly Wax?

Mike,

It would be neat to see you tackle a project like this with basic/beginner level tools and products and see just how well it comes out.

I like this idea plus it ties in with some of the new products I've been asked to test and write reviews for.

After all, I think I can speak for most people here and 90% of us look up to you in some way or another as we don't possess near the skill and knowledge that you do. Look at it as sort of a master of the skill who can do the job no matter the tools.

Thank you for the kind words and over the years I've always tried my hardest to write easy to understand and follow how-to articles as well as document all of my own detailing work to share with others at least how I would tackle different projects.

Tidbit of history...
Back in 2003, before I brought up MeguiarsOnline.com for Meguiar's, I wrote an in-depth step-by-step how-to article for the forum world on how I did a multiple-step show car detailing process on a 1954 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. At the time I posted this to my own forum, TheArtofPolishingPaint.com - that forum became ShowCarGarage.com, (both of the domain names I still own).

This was back at the beginning of discussion forums. It was this full picture, full step-by-step process that I shared in the forum world and also printed out in color and then gave to the Vice President of Meguiar's that led to him giving me the green light to bring up the Meguiar's discussion forum. He could see how showing before, during and after pictures and then sharing the products I used would lead to solving people's problems and thus lead to creating sales.

Later, Joe Fernandez gave me credit as the guy that created or started the term of a write-up. Credit which I accepted since back in the early days of forum software there weren't a lot of people forging new paths in the cyber world.

For those reading this that might not know much about the history of the software they are reading this post on, here's my article on this topic.

Discussion Forums - A relatively "new" invention...

Everything has a beginning... one of the things I do is remember all of this stuff because I was there.

For instance using a porter cable on the whole car, some inexpensive polishes/compounds comparable to most, basic microfibers, etc.

just my thoughts...

And good thoughts at that. I'll take this approach for the 1970 Cuda survivor car.

Mike,

Having a 1970 Dodge Challenger SE/RT that I'll soon embark on the journey of restoring here in the next year, I feel like a little kid on Christmas!! Really looking forward to the write up on the cuda!!!

Mike I haven't seen you use Blackfire in awhile.

Turn back the clock to your days of old, back in Irvine California... Top that yellow car with some Meguiars Mirror Glaze #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax:)

I like it. A little Meguiar's nostalgia.
