Poorboys would be cool to see.
How about all Poorboy's products? It's been a long time since they were showcased. Show us what they can do.
Rupes system!
Mike,
It would be neat to see you tackle a project like this with basic/beginner level tools and products and see just how well it comes out.
After all, I think I can speak for most people here and 90% of us look up to you in some way or another as we don't possess near the skill and knowledge that you do. Look at it as sort of a master of the skill who can do the job no matter the tools.
For instance using a porter cable on the whole car, some inexpensive polishes/compounds comparable to most, basic microfibers, etc.
just my thoughts...
I like this idea plus it ties in with some of the new products I've been asked to test and write reviews for.
Thank you for the kind words and over the years I've always tried my hardest to write easy to understand and follow how-to articles as well as document all of my own detailing work to share with others at least how I would tackle different projects.
Tidbit of history...
Back in 2003, before I brought up MeguiarsOnline.com for Meguiar's, I wrote an in-depth step-by-step how-to article for the forum world on how I did a multiple-step show car detailing process on a 1954 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. At the time I posted this to my own forum, TheArtofPolishingPaint.com - that forum became ShowCarGarage.com, (both of the domain names I still own).
This was back at the beginning of discussion forums. It was this full picture, full step-by-step process that I shared in the forum world and also printed out in color and then gave to the Vice President of Meguiar's that led to him giving me the green light to bring up the Meguiar's discussion forum. He could see how showing before, during and after pictures and then sharing the products I used would lead to solving people's problems and thus lead to creating sales.
Later, Joe Fernandez gave me credit as the guy that created or started the term of a write-up. Credit which I accepted since back in the early days of forum software there weren't a lot of people forging new paths in the cyber world.
For those reading this that might not know much about the history of the software they are reading this post on, here's my article on this topic.
Discussion Forums - A relatively "new" invention...
Everything has a beginning... one of the things I do is remember all of this stuff because I was there.
And good thoughts at that. I'll take this approach for the 1970 Cuda survivor car.
