holograms and wetsand marks?

Way to step in and help the guy out Trent. :dblthumb2:

I spoke with Andy a few weeks ago about time frame, and it looks like it is going to be a few more weeks until the warmer weather, morning temps, will be right for polishing his car. Will keep in mind to take pictures and have them posted when we are finished.

It looks like tomorrow is the big day for Andy to bring his 370Z to my house for a real detail. Will talk to Andy about posting pictures when we are done. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Thank you for the follow-up...

So many threads like this come and go and it's really nice to see/read the conclusion to the project after all the discussion in the thread.

Well I think the car came out fantastic. The real critic will post pictures and comments probably on Sunday or Monday. I believe Andy is going to put some wax on top the sealant tomorrow. He will take more pictures after that is done and post them.

Good deal Trent and Andy, I'm glad that all worked out with you two getting together on his swirl marks.

Can't wait to see the pics! Very nice of you for helping a AG member!

Hey everyone!
I will be posting pictures soon. Trying to learn how to post it in the message itself instead of attaching thumbnails of it. It was cloudy majority of the day yesterday so I was not able to capture a lot of quality pictures in the sun. Today's not looking to good either with chances of rain. I will be applying a coat or two of wax. pics to come. bear with me.

While Andy is still taking pictures and figuring out how to post them into this thread, I figured I would explain our day of detailing. Also I asked Andy to take pictures of the roof under the same lighting he originally took the pictures showing the buffer trails.

We first washed the car using a foam gun and I think it was the DP formula, 2 bucket method and finished rinse by flooding the car.

Brought car into garage and dried with cobra and Poorboy’s waffle weave towel using the Metro Vac and blow to assist in drying the car.

We clayed the car using pinnacle green clay/ pinnacle clay lube and Riccardo clay and PB’s Spray and wipe mixed 50:50.

We then went inside the house for some breakfast – scrambled eggs, bacon and toast.

Our first test panel was the passenger side door – we first tried Pinnacle Finishing polish on a polishing pad using my Flex. It cleared up nice but we wanted to clear it up better. We then tried Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover, polishing pad and the Flex. Better but not where we wanted it. Broke out the LC cut pad (orange), Pinnacle Advance Swirl remover, and the flex and we finally found the right combination. We then finished polish with the advance finishing polish, polishing pad and porter cable. We used this combination on the hood, doors, front and rear quarter panels.

The roof, trunk lid and rear bumper – we used the advanced swirl remover with polishing pad and flex, and then followed with advanced finishing polish, polishing pad and porter cable.

I worked the flex and swirl remover while Andy followed behind me with his porter cable, polishing pad and finishing polish.

We then put one coat of Klasse sealant glaze on the car. At some point Andy applied some Pinnacle tire gel (I think) on his tires.

Ok - Andy posted pictures of the car in his profile.

The passenger door test panel has before and afters, but the pictures are backwards in his profile. The after is first and then about 5 pictures down is the before. You guys will just have to look for them. My question is what wax did you top the sealant off with. Great looking car Andy.

Trent, I started a new thread on show and shine titled project detail: 40th anniversary 370z. check it out. i didn't have a whole lot of time to wax so i chose the collinite insulator wax since it's easier to apply. i have yet to try the mixture you gave me. will definitely try it one of these weekends.

You and Trent did a great job on your car. I knew he would get you straightened out. His work is outstanding to see in person.:props:
