This is my mom and dad's 2001 Honda Accord. It has just over 31,000 miles on the odometer. They bought this as their nice car, so it is garaged all the time and really doesn't get driven that often. They bought this car a little less than a year ago, however I have not been able to dedicate the time to it that it required until just recently. Inside and the trunk was pretty clean, as it had been sent to a "detail shop" before being put on the dealer lot. So it just needed a freshening up and the old greasy dressing removed. However, there was a general hazy look to the paint, lots of swirls, water spots on the windows, and some problem spots I wanted to give some attention to. I have probably 20 - 24 hours in this car over the course of 4 days. Turned out great in the end. Hope you enjoy!

Interior/trunk
Vacuum
Front floor mats cleaned with Duragloss carpet cleaner
DP interior cleaner on plastics and a couple spots on the passenger seat
DP total interior protectant
Sprayway glass cleaner and glass towel on interior glass

Exterior

Wash/Clay
Meguiar's Super Degreaser on tires and wheel wells
Washed with P21S TAW, NXT car wash, Meg's Super Soap in the foam gun, microfiber wash mitt, 2BM
Clay with no name clay and Meg's Last Touch 1:1
Re-wash with NXT car wash
Dried with Cobra Guzzler

Correction (tail lights got the same correction as the paint)
Meg's M105 with 5.5 inch orange LC CCS pad on G110v2
Meg's M205 on 5.5 inch white LC CCS pad on G110v2
PB White Diamond Glaze

LSP
PB Liquid Natty Blue
WG Fuzion

Other products used
M105 on 5.5 inch orange CCS pad on glass to remove water spots, sealed with Klasse AIO and DG AW
Griot's Undercarriage spray
DP tire gel
PB Trim Restorer
Klasse SG on license plate
WG Plastik Surface Sealant (on headlights and tail lights)
Opti-Seal (on door jams and fuel cap area (after claying))
Meguiar's Hot Rims Mag and Aluminum Polish (on exhaust tip)

I think that's it. Hope I didn't forget anything.

Guess the previous "detailer" didn't clean the plastics before applying his dressing. This is what I pulled off the plastics using DP Total Interior Cleaner.

pardon the hole in the front bumper - that's where the front license plate bracket gets screwed in. :dunno:

Thanks for looking!

A 2001 Accord with 31,000 miles is old

The car looks fantastic! Great job and good documentation of the process!

Nice work.

That is super low miles for a 10yr old car. My brother's 2001 Accord has 120k+ miles :)

What's up with all the low light photo's? Any direct sun shots? And do you like the DP products pretty well? I love the tire gel!

The sun was out when I took the outside shots, but I couldn't get a shot I wanted. I also need some new places to take pictures. Might have to pull it out in the driveway and try my luck at some direct sun shots. And yeah, I love DP. Haven't tried a product from that line yet I didn't like! I have:

Auto Bath
Poli-Coat
Max Wax
Pad cleaner
tire gel
Clay lube (haven't tried it yet)
Cleanse-All (tried it on a spot or two, but haven't really put it to the test)
Total Interior Cleaner
Total Interior Protectant
Krystal Vision glass cleaner
DP Plex-All

I also tried Xtreme Foam. Wow! Way cool! I'd get it, but I have a whole gallon of Meguiar's Super Soap for my foam gun. Great line at a very reasonable price. :dblthumb2:

Halogen light stand is only $30 and worth every penny while working and checking your work. Anyway, what would you compare the Auto Bath to? I've been curious about it but haven't ordered any. Is your tire gel the old or new formula? I need to order some DP samples and just form my own opinion instead of asking so many questions!

I'd say it's kinda similar to WG Auto Bathe, only better. Better suds, more lubricity, need less to get the same amount of suds, and it's cheaper. My tire gel is the new formula.

Cool. I suppose I'll order some!

That looks very good, son!!!

I like this one the best:

By the way, how do you like M105/orange pad on glass? I have been contemplating to use this setup to clean up some glass, but I am afraid of marring.

Nice job...looks great to me! What did you use on the black panels on the doors next to the windows? That was a great turn around if you ask me :)

Great Job Shane! Now your parents "good car" is a great car! Fantastic!
