Hoping to Switch APC

if you are willing to spend the extra coin, Blackfire Interior cleaner smells like nothing. It also works a LOT better on the interior than APC's in my experience . You dont have to follow up with a wipedown and it will never leave that either slippery (on hard surfaces) or sticky (on soft touch surfaces) feeling that APC leaves behind.

my next choice for both an interior and exterior cleaner would be Blackfire APC. It smells very nice and seems to be a bit gentler on interior surfaces. It also wont completely haze and soften clear plastic like Pinnacle APC will if you accidently get some overspray on anything polycarbonate. Thats my only gripe with Pinnacle APC. Not matter what the dilution ratio is, it lays waste to clear plastics. There are only a few APC's that are polycarbonate safe. OPC, Meg's APC+, Garry Deans Infinite purpose cleaner are a few others that are just as safe for it.

I got the impression he was using APC after the Folex

Ah I see

The guys at Meguiar's say that rinsing with water is not enough

The alkalinity of the APC has to be neutralized

Very good point, I think it's probably best for the OP to use a dedicated cleaner on carpet/upholestry.

My current APC is CG's AllClean+ and it works great on everything else.

D101 is irritating to the nose and throat if I use it for something like tires. However for interiors it smells like a generic cleaning product. It is also very good on interiors and extremely cost effective.

i don't mind it too much.

i found a good use for it though, using the tornador black gun with some light cleaning dilution 101 and spray into the carpets makes the whole vehicle smell pleasant. it's not a "new car scent" by any means, but it's a "clean" smell... i would prefer the d103 (apc+) smell over it, but it isn't avail in the gallon size anymore

Make sure you get all of the APC out of the carpet or it can "reactivate" when it gets wet

Jason Rose from Meguiar's has an interesting YouTube video filmed at AGO that discusses the phenomenon

Basically, dirty shoes get wet, you get in the car and the moisture reactivates the APC which cleans your shoes and transfers the dirt to the carpet

I was just going to say that, its called resoiling. The carpets will get dirty faster than usual. You should extract with clean water to rinse all apc from fabric or carpet.

Sorry guys. Forgot to mention that my Meg's APC solution is super diluted with distilled water at 1:32. I've been doing this mostly for smoker's vehicles and other nasty interior's and have never had any issues.

I like to use Zep Citrus 3:1, 5:1 and 10:1. Leaves a pleasant orange odor, not the strange orange odor of OPC.
