Hey everybody, I posted a few weeks ago about possibly taking on a fleet of vehicles for a local business. The cargo vans are vinyl wrapped and I'm getting one on Monday for a wash and wax and interior job. The client seems to think I will be machine waxing the exterior with the vinyl. I don't see that as being good for the vinyl, my plan was to use CG Meticulous Matte and only machine wax the exposed paint. I would be using a simple cleaner wax, nothing abrasive as this is a lower end job. Any suggestions on what to do with vinyl wraps?

You can machine wax, I've done it. The only problem I could see coming up is generating too much heat, just move quick and be careful!

your game plan you have thought out is perfect for the job theres nothing more i see you can do snice it is a lower end job just try not to touch the vinyl wrap with paint cleaner and or wax ..good luck

Update:

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up getting one of the vans this morning for some work. Turns out the vinyl wrap is glossy and the client insisted it be machine waxed, so that's what I went with. He booked it for a wash and wax and basic interior (vacuum, clean / protect dash / windows).

I washed with Meticulous Matte wash (cos dammit, I wanted to use this stuff!) and used the PC to apply some Voodoo Silq cleaner wax. It went on easy and wiped right off. The roof is white paint so that was pretty simple too. Client was happy, I spent about 3.5-4 hours total and made $125, so it's a little less than I would have charged anyone else, but he has a fleet of vehicles he is interested in having me work on so it seems like a good trade off.

Well done! I too have used cleaner waxes and AIO's on vinyl with great results.

On GLOSSY vinyl you can use any LSP as you would on clear coated paint. With matte or satin finishes, I wouldn't use anything other than CG matte detailer/spray sealant.

I have matt finish wrap and I use Menz power lock on it all the time works great.

what he said. glossy vinyl you can wax.

if you cleaner wax, gotta be careful as they are way more sensitive than paint. but i've done it.

usually i'll test a small area first just to be sure. anything matte = no wax

I have a vinyl on my roof, and the dealship scratched it up a little with something, its kind of a thick mark, and tips on fixing this or general care? ill try to get a pic later.
