How do I improve my lighting??

Having finished white walls and a painted floor helps considerably IMO!

Here is how I have mine set up. Would be nice to have some light on the walls too but I just use halogens to see while I work.

I ended up spending a little more money on the light fixtures for my other garage by getting HO fixtures and 5000k 90CRI bulbs ($20 each). If I had it to do all over again I would go with HO T8 fixtures along with the expensive bulbs I used in my second garage.

Rasky, I hear you on that one! Unfortunately for me...my shop is literally a rats nest of wiring, and it would be one hell of a project to put up drywall. The floor is definitely something I want to do though.

But...the real reason I came back to this thread, was because I updated my lights!

I have a buddy who's an electrician and he got me a good deal on some brand new fixtures. I really don't know what these babies are...but damn, they are bright, and run with low amps. Check it out! Ignore the mess...things were in shambles, ha.

I took this picture before the bulbs even warmed up. Once they were warmed up, it was even brighter. BIG difference.

And oh yeah, that little moped on the right...I traded my non working motorcycle for two identical mopeds, ha. I know, random.

If you could find out what your set up consists of and share that would put a nice bow on this thread for us all!

Thx

I honestly don't know what he put up there. I just know that each of the fixtures has 6 bulbs that get extremely bright. I know they're Sylvania, and I paid $175 a piece for each fixture...and that was at a discount.

I'll be putting more of these in next year. I slowly want to replace all the T8s. Cause these new lights make the old ones look stupid, ha.

If I find out exactly what they are...I'll let you guys know.
