How good is this? BISSELL Little Green ProHeat ?

My tap water gets to 155 degrees and I use that with great results.

I made a thread a few weeks ago asking about it as well, but got one reply. So I had to go with my gut and pick one up.

So.. I just picked one up off of craigslist. It's a proheat pet

My review is that it sucks. Not bc it is used (barely used) but bc it sucks. When you are used to extracting with a thermax extractor on a regular basis like I am, it's easy to call the unit a sucky one.

It can't even compare to my 5hp. 4 gallon rigid shop vac. The bissel little green extractors barely suck any water, so you are sitting there forever, making multiple slow passes to extract it all.

And the brush part on the attachment, as well as the clear top part on the attachment, are both very deceiving. You see all that dirty water through the clear part, and the brush brushes the fibers of you carpet so they look drier... It makes you think you're actually sucking a lot of water up

Sure, it sprays water, but so does a spray bottle!

Anyway, if you have a good wet vac, stick with it until you get enough for something with professional level extraction and water lift. Otherwise, follow everyone else and convince yourself you've made a good investment

You can't compare a $75 household machine to a $1,000 commercial machine. Of course a Professional extractor is going to work better. I have had amazing results with the Bissell, and so have many others here. I have had no problem extracting water out of carpet or seats. Maybe you had a bad machine or it was user error perhaps.

Yea I kinda compared it to the thermax at my work, but I intended to make a point that my wet vac did a better job at sucking than that piece of garbage bissell.

I've had amazing results with a scrub brush, cold water in a spray bottle, auto magic apc, and a shop vac weaker than the vac I use now. Getting amazing results with a crappy lgm isn't impossible I'm sure, but I'm also sure that my wet vac and water bottle will do just as good and quick of a job, if not quicker.

Not trying to hate on the lgm fanboys. just giving an opinion for the op and others who are also considering the lgm to read and think about and ponder and ultimately look at other options before going the lgm route

I used one with heat for a few years. It was great, it was instant heat, and got the job done.

I recently bought an Aztec hotrod, while its a bad*** machine, it has some flaws.

In my opinion it takes to long to completely heat up(~10-12 minutes) . That's using 150° hot water from my tap. If I had more electric circuits in my garage this wouldn't be an issue really, but I can't have this and my radio on or it'll trip the breaker.

The sprayer only sprays about a 1 1/2 inch wide path, but the suction head is 3 1/2 inches wide, so you have to overlap a lot for full coverage.

I don't have any issues with the suction, that part is amazing. The hose length is also great, I don't have to constantly move the machine as I work which saves time.

The tank size of the lgm was a hassle for large vehicles, sometimes filling up 6-7 times before finishing a job. The Aztec will do most vehicles with just one tank.

So the lgm with heat, for the price, can't really be beat. If there was a way to add a longer hose, and not affect the performance , it'd be my go to machine.

Comments to insight discussion or fishing for people to start an argument with? Words used in this manner. tell me your angry everyone likes the machine but you:dblthumb2:

OP...for $99 it works as advertised...do yourself a favor and search some threads that have pictures of results, and see for yourself.

I have the pro heat pet. The auto one is the same price, but I couldn't find one in any stores around here.

I use hot water from the water heater. Like some others have said, now I vacuum, spray with Folex, agitate, then use the proheat with water to extract. I didn't expect it to work as good as a professional extractor, and it doesn't, but it works better than what I was doing. That was a spray carpet cleaner and vac.

For my applications, it is worth what it cost.

I saw an add for the LGM at Target on Black Friday; it's going to be $50.

Make sure you check you check that out.

What are you doing trying to call me out guy? It's my opinion. If it's too strong for you, then don't read it

There are no opinions from people that don't don't like the unit, which will lead people to believe the unit is undeniable. The only guys submitting a reply are lgm fans. If you have a business or work somewhere that focuses more on interior than exterior, or work on nasty interiors regularly, then an extractor that you can pick up in the target home department is not for you.

Yeah, for $100, if you don't already own a good shop vac, it's a no brainer. Its a no brainer for people that like to buy a bunch of toys and buy into the hype. I bought into the hype, and I tried it and I believe it sucks. Luckily it was only $50. The things that most of us on this board buy are based off of hype from other members. Like who really needs 5 different polishers? And 20 different lsps etc

Its cheap plastic, feels like a toy, unsure if it'll hold up, no capacity, short hose, doesn't look professional, doesn't suck water, blah blah blah

That's my opinion, which I'm entitled to, regardless of how you feel about your department store extractor. Good for you if you like it :props:

You keep saying it doesn't suck water. If that was your case then your unit was defective or you weren't using it correctly. I just used it to clean up a very dirty seat and the seat was dried after one hour. And again, if you are not a professional or are just looking for a back up machine if you are then I would highly recommend this machine.

I have the "spotclean" version and really like it. I use it the same way as Ed above. I use CG Fabric Clean but I hear a lot of good things about Folex. The "spotclean" version does heat the water, but I use hot tap water anyway. Only downside is you have to empty the dirty water tank quite often. I keep a 5 gallon bucket next to me to dump the dirty water into, so I still move pretty quick.

I have this one and it works quite well. It takes emptying it often and sometimes it may leak if not seated correctly. But for the price I do the auto and house with this little guy.

I bought two of them and they both died:(

Plus I found they didn't put out enough solution and had very little suction.
I always wondered if it removed enough water even though it was very little.
A lot of people do like it so please don't go on what I'm saying.

I have had very good results with mine. I am surprised how many people are complaining about it, for a $90 machine I didn't have very high expectations to begin with. The few dirty vehicles I have used it on, it has more then paid for itself. Here a few of the examples.

If you have realistic expectations for a cheap unit, I feel you will be happy with it and what it can do.

I just did a quick look, and the one that is being listed for $50 is none Pro-heat version.

Is it good? Yes
Are there better options out there? Yes
For the price it can't be beat.
:iagree:
I have the ProHeat, It works very well for the average consumer. I bought some additional tools off eBay for it, The pet brush deep cleaner is great for extremely soiled carpets. I pulled a liter bottle of root beer out of the third row seat in a friends Hyundai with it, seat looked great afterwards. Im the MAN

Can't seem to find it. Link pls.

Yeah false alarm on the specific model "Pro-heat". My apologies; I got a pre-Black Friday Target add in the mail and saw it, but didn't look closely. Regardless, if you want look on Targets webiste for their Black Friday add; it's on a page with other home items.

I use my 'lift off' from my house bissel carpet cleaner. It has given me good results, but was $299, so not worth it for just using in autos.

Anyone have experience with the new Bissell Spotclean Pro? It doesn't have a heater but Its almost twice as powerful as the LGM. I'm thinking about ordering one this week.

I have the 'Bissell Deep Clean Pet Lift Off' and the lift off pod looks exactly like that. *This is an upright cleaner for around the house, but as the lift off capability. (No brainer for me since it can be used around the house and for cars)

I'm not sure if the specs are the same (although mine has their 'heat wave technology'). If they are then I would recommend it; mine works perfectly for my needs.

Do you all add any cleaner to the water? I saw that one of you pre-treats the stain, but I'm wondering if I need to add any cleaner?

The way I use mine is like this:

I only use water in the water tank of the machine.

I spray a cleaning solution with a spray bottle (I will upgrade to a pressure tank very soon) and then scrub the seats with a brush. I then use the machine to rinse with water and extract.

For stain I use a stain remover first.
