How long to let IRONX dwell

Did a search and didn't find much.


Carpro Iron-X 500ml spray.

Also any tips, tricks are appreciated. Its a black car.
 
I try to let it dwell as long as possible so it can thoroughly dissolve any iron embedded in the surface. Typically I will let it dwell for about 6-7 mins and then agitate with a soapy wash mitt and then let dwel for another few minutes before rinsing.
 
I have also recently started using iron-x, and am really impressed with it.

Reading this I have perhaps not been allowing it sufficient dwell time as I have been paranoid about letting it dry, based on what I have read here, as well as the instructions on the bottle.

However, truth be told, I have no idea why it should not be allowed to dry. What are the actual implications? Will the paint peel off, will it stain the paint etc.

I guess the OCD in me just wants to understand what will go wrong if it does happen to dry on the paint.

Can any please inform me?

I like it alot. I let it dwell till I see alot of purple bleeding! Really cuts down on claying
 
Whilst these things are routinely allowed to dry out, it is never a good idea to allow surfactants and salts to dry on a finished surface - it is just bad chemical practice. I leave the product to dwell until it just starts drying out and going brown and then remove.
 
As with most chemicals, they all reach their equilibrium and can"appear" to do a poor job or stop working. To avoid this condition try the following.

Before I apply CarPro IronX, I give each wheel a wash with soap and water to remove the majority of the grime and rinse it well. Now I spray on CarPro's IronX as directed and allow it to work. The plus here, as it changes color I can focus on those areas that are still soiled in order to do a complete and thorough job...:props:
