It is true, but not all the products are LSP'S though, some have some cleaners in them and inparticular this year where I'll be using/tgrying DG #501 w/601 mixed in for my cleaning/polishing needs, after that its going to be a mix of DG #105, 101 and 111 to get things going in the spring. BL will also play into the mix and before summer shows up, Fuzion will make an appearance once or twice as well.

I can't wait for spring to do a clean-up for sure. We've had a mild winter for sure, so its not too bad right now.

Just for the record, the 1st number in my sig is for the 1st year of ownership, the 2nd number is from Sept 10th of 2012.

It was stated that if you want the "just waxed" look, well, this the route to go. For me its also therpy as well, cheap if you ask me.

Yes I have, and I know for a fact that it has no cleaning ability. Just because you are on a phone, tapping away misguided information is still improper. Mother's says "no", so it's "no on cleaning".

As for solvents, well, we discussed that on another thread recently. The use of the word "solvents" in any product does not automatically translate to "cleaning ability" at all. You are right for some products, but sometimes generalizing is not always a good thing.

As I said before, I do sincerely apologize if my delivery was way off the mark. At least you understand my perspective now (as does everyone else).

^^^ Isnt this coming from the guy who said Griots Garage Paint Prep is a wipe on/wipe off product, and that their Pre-Wax clenser was not able to be wiped off? LOL!!!!

hehe.... maybe read my statement again because as you will see I didn't specifically mention Griot's products. I spoke in general terms. There is nothing wrong with that statement. Enjoy the day and try again if you dare. lol
 
WOW!! Thanks for all the responses. Let's just say that it is about preference, time, prep and teqnique to get that shine, gloss, pop or head snap you want to accomplish with your car.
 
Well its different for everyone for sure when it comes to time and how many coats for sure. Surely an full detail coming out of winter followed by regular washes and the use of your favorite QD will keep it looking good and well protected and another full detail going into the winter will help keep it protected from whatever mother nature can throw at it for sure, but for me, I get to relax and enjoy the results of various products that I have at my disposal. Is it overkill.....YOU BET IT IS!

I don't know bro, you jumped down sonics throat but be honest you did butcher the answer and completely lead the dude in the wrong direction. I'm not one to do things like this but you can't call someone out, and 2 hours earlier butcher something.

I read an article over on autopia where a few guys were using a system similar to spit shining a dress shoe to apply numerous coats of wax to a car. They were using spray bottles with ice water to chill the current coats of wax to apply an additional coat of wax over and over (or some process similar to that) on test panels and said those panels look and durabilty improved noticably. I never bothered testing their theory. Maybe going into winter would be a time where it may be worth trying that too protect the paint from salt but I just used two coats of Finish Kare Hi Temp Wax applied two days apart back in November and so far I am still beading nicely when the winter breaks enough to wash my car.
 
I plan on doing a rinsless wash in my buddy's garage after we come back from the Chicago Auto Show and then following it up with a coat of 501/601, kinda like a late winter coat and besides, wanna see how this product does. This should tie me over till the weather breaks. As of right now the Fuzion I applied back in mid November is still beading decently.

Good read looks like from the article wax coat #4 is what your looking for if intention is a color "change" tint hue what have you.

I haven't used a dodo wax yet but I like to use liquid souveran and then follow up with ss2 and have always loved how it turns out. Different strokes different folks. I'm a big fan of trying things out on my car and if it works I run with it.. Even if its outside the box....
