Walking down the street or through a parking lot eying up paint finishes on random cars and think to yourself...
"boy that car needs a m105/205 combo with some black fire sealant"
"that car would look great with a Menz sip pass topped with some Wolfgang 3.0"
Lol I guess we're just crazy

No of course not! You're crazy kiddo!!!!

Haha joking! I think all us Autogeeks do. those cars riddled with swirls are just SCREAMING for a polish.

Infact I even look at the wheels and think would Megs APC take care of that or would wheel cleaner be needed? Or "gee those wheels would look so much better after some Meg's wheel brightener"

Sometimes in the rain I think "imagine how cool the beading on that hood with <insert wax or sealant thats on my mind that day>"

There is this guy who is a manager or something like that at the gym I go to. He has this black Pontiac G6 that he washes on a regular basis and makes sure to park it far away from everyone to make sure nothing happens to it. It makes me sick to look at it when it is clean it is so swirled up, the paint almost looks to have a grayish tint to it when your driving by it in the lot. If the sun is hitting it you can see the swirls from as far as your eyes are good... easily at least 20 ft or so. If I had more practice and knew how to really get rid of swirls I would beg this guy to let me wash and detail that car for him.

i pass that stage...
after a day of work , i don`t wanna see any car or think to any polish....
is just me...

Same here, but if I'm not busy I'll walk right up to these vehicle owners and start a conversation about the swirls on their car or truck. I've landed a lot of paint polishing jobs this way.

I used to do that. Now I just say to myself I'm the 1% and they are the 99% (that don't give a darn)

i do that all the time. especially the cars in my school are so swirled up no one cares about anything in my college. i always have the nicest cleanest shiniest car in the whole school and i always catch people staring at my car lol. my car is NEVER ever dirty. if it gets dusty i use some megs quick detailer real quick.

Ryan, I think everyone here does it to some degree but the bottom line is, we all do it....

Man...I do this too!!! I'll be driving down the highway and I'll see swirls glistening in the sun and think man...I could do some magic with that car.

Here's a follow-up...not trying to jack the thread...but how many people, when walking away from their car, look back and say "dang my car looks GOOD!!!"

Always.

I've taken it a step farther though. I can't walk past ANY smooth surface without analyzing it for flaws now. Glass doors, windows, TV screens, granite counter tops, finished wood. You name it, if it's in my house I'm trying to find a way to make it and keep it perfect, and when I find a flaw I can't correct, I go INSANE.

Oh wow...yeah you might have a problem. I think Flash has a number you can call. :D

hahaha yeeup. heck, the other day I was playing Forza Motorsport 4. You can change the background in the menu screen and I changed it to the Top Gear Showroom. So as the camera views were changing and showing different angles of the car, I thought, "Man, it looks like it was compounded. There's a lotta haze, could use a good polish"

All the time! For me its mostly the inside that I look at . Were I work a lot of pig styes come in. I dont understand how people can drive cars that are that dirty inside.

Man, all this time I had been identifying myself as part of the 99%r's, but apparently I am part of the 1%. I am so confused now. Does this mean I will have to pay more taxes on detail supplies? :)

I always look at cars paint and the horrible swirls people have on their cars. When I know the car is a 2012, that makes me discusted even more

Same thing with any hobby though ya know. I skateboard so when im driving and I see a nice ledge or a stair set I think to myself hmmm that rail would be nice to back lip or that stair set would be nice to tre flip. haha

I take it you must detail full time lol

my other big thought is always "how to people let there cars stay this way"

You must have one of the cleanest houses around lol

I do this all the time! hahaha

If I am walking and see one that looks "detailed" I like to look to see if it was done to autogeek standards.

Clean wheels! Ick, filthy barrels!

Paint looks clean and shiny!
Ohh look, holograms.
