How ofter to "swirl remove"

So on my quest to figure out the next process in this world of detailing... id like to find some more information on swirl removal...

I read this article:

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0, Wolfgang Auto Polish, Car polish, Wolfgang swirl remover polish, Wolfgang Menzerna

and it seems pretty straight forward. Here are my questions:

1) Do I need to "swirl remove". My car is a 2010 Land Rover LR4. And here is a close up pic of the paint.

2) How ofter does one swirl remove? Every car wash? Every other? once every 6 months?

3) Do you need a DA polisher or can it be done by hand?

4) Im assuming a pad on this sander would not be the same?

Need some pics to point you down the right road.
Advice off the bat
Take the time to learn and research equipment products and technique. Correct the paint once. Then learn the proper way to maintain the paint so you don't put swirls back in the paint.
Depending how bad the paint condition is it can be done by hand to some degree. Machine is best. Polishing a whole SUV by hand can get old real fast.
So send us some pics and we can point you forward. You can hop on youtube and search junkman2000 he has a bunch of straight forward detailing videos that make it very easy to follow. He makes it fun.
 
unless I'm blind or your camera is way out of focus I don't see any marring, swirls or rids at least in that picture.
If that is the condition it looks like it may need a good two bucket method wash, clay, pre wax cleaner or light finishing polish then seal and wax.
Yes you could do all that by hand.
I would get some reflection and full sun shots. They will help even more.
As far as correcting paint. You only have so much paint on a car. Correct it once and maintain it well and you may only need to spot polish here and there.
 
There are def not swirl marks. I just wasn't sure if swirl removal was something all paints could benefit from.

- liquid wax

Im just trying to find the next step in detailing.
 
From the pictures you provided, if your paint looks like that, you are golden. Just maintain it. Just remember that you cannot keep "swirl removing" or keep correcting your paint, because every time you correct your paint, you remove a thin layer of clear coat and that is something you do not have a lot of.
 
Just wash it, clay if needed and put a sealant on it and add a wax if you want
 
what is this sealant people are talking about? Also what is a good wax, currently I am using Rain-X wax as the "water beading" label got me hahah....

Id like to order some better wax that will give the car that "wet" look.

Edit: I just did some reading on sealants and I might have to give that a try next week. I see the klasse and wolfgang are spoken about a lot, so I will probably pick up one of those.
 
Is that what gives the wet look?i saw sone pictures of son1cs blue mustang and wow did it look nice.

Maybe son1c can shed some light on his methods
 
Klasse is a very good product, add two layers of klasse glaze over the AIO and you have a nice wet look. You can top with any wax you wish.

Also check out Duragloss, they have some great products which are "tough as nails" so to speak. :)

IMO sealants are the way to go with a wax topper.
 
Yes AIO is "all in one". The Klasse aio is a cleaner sealer product, not much correctin abilities. Follow with the sealant glaze. Then wax of you like. A great wax to look into and great reviews here is Collinite 845.
 
My wish list keeps growing. Can all of this be applied by hand? Or should I look into a harbor freight cheap polisher until I decided on a fancier one? I saw the 6" palm one for pretty cheap...
 
The glaze and the Collinite 845 can be applied by hand for sure. The AIO cam be done by hand and elbow grease but I prefer to apply by machine.
 
You will get a wet look more so with a wax. But if you have good paint and a good sealant like klasse you can get that also with 2 layers.

Son1c probably had a wax on his mustang that made it look like that
 
A great wax I like is 3M performance. Even with out the sealer my car has been looking deep wet for 3 months. Then I did some Mothers qick detail on top.

I really liked that product too, the 3M Performance Finish.
