How to clean the grille on Mini Cooper S?

Even with my tiny fingers..I can't get the plastic honeycomb shape grille, nice and shiny..I try to dry all the combs with a microtowel ...I don't have a blower!! sometimes I get hard water white spots..
now, I want to try Black Wow? or 303 protection? but how do you work in a little space? I can't just spray the grille and wipe clean, so do I have to use a
q-tip in each little slat? or wear cotton gloves and stick my finger in each weave? Im the MAN Huh???? ladyvalea
 
May be you can use a detailing brush to clean them. But as for protecting them, i'm not sure if a brush is also an option. Let's wait for what the experts say. :)

+1 on the detailing brush for cleaning.
For protecting I use 303 with foam tipped swams. I love the Edge swabs but I find them too large for this particular purpose. There are some amazing foam swabs available (I think they are used in cleaning pc boards etc.) but I don't have a link to them available right now.
 
I love my Lake Country Grout Sponge's for my grill when washing, but mine isn't honeycomb, you'd have to wiggle it around section by section. Or you could get one of the soft yellow grout sponges, or even the stiffer orange one, from Home Depot and cut slits in it. They are only ~$1.50 so it's no problem to have several and dedicate them for specific tasks. The foam might work for applying dressing and you could cut the slits to the perfect size. :dblthumb2:
 
Use your compressor with the air blowing tool to get the water out. I use it on my plastic mesh bumper inserts.
 
Aerosol duster for drying if you don't have a compressor. For cleaning use a boars hair brush, for protecting I would use a trim detail spray like meguiars has
 
Ya' know, I remember reading in another thread about somebody wanted a recommendation to clean their honeycomb grill, and somebody recommended using a bottle brush with your car wash or APC, like this one:

Then go ahead and dress it with something like Stoner Trim Shine or Meguiar's Exterior Trim Detailer, both of which come in an aerosol can.

Try looking for either of these products at O'Reilly or Pep Boys. That's probably the easiest way you're going to get it clean. Hope that helps! :xyxthumbs:

I'm assuming that's you in your avatar? If so, you're very pretty.
 
Bottle brush is a good idea if its soft, or you can do the Edge Foam tips, you might even be able to use the Mini EZ Detail Brush.
 
Use a soft wheel brush, like a Mothers Wheel Brush and agitate the entire grill with soap and water, and then rinse.

Dry the grill - best to do this with a leaf blower, or a Metro Blaster, or compressed air.

Once the grill is dry, spray an even coating of trim dressing such as 303 Aerospace Protectant or Stoner Trim Shine or something. You can additionally spread the dressing around with a clean soft brush. Because the grill is scratch-resistant, you shouldn't have any streaking issues once the dressing has dried up on the grill....using a brush to spread it will allow you to apply an even coat of dressing to the entire grill very quickly and easily.

This reminds me of when I used to play on xbox live and we would be in a game or a lobby. If a woman joined and a female voice came through. One of the "kids" on live would inevitably say "Are you a girl!?" :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

This is a picture of me..I took about 3 weeks ago...I'm half Mexican and Japanese!!! and its so true about X-box, sometimes, I play Halo3 with my son and I use the Mic, and the minute I start talking, he gets a lot of friend requests!! its his account!! "its funny"...!!!!
 
I don't know how small that grill is but if a regular bottle brush looks to big try a Hummingbird bottle brush they are very small and fit tight spots. The one I have is very soft your local bird store might have one for you to touch so you could see if it's soft enough for your car. Good Luck.
