Hey Dog Rescuer!

Here are two posts that might help:
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...d-photo-into-your-autogeek-photo-gallery.html

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...age-your-photo-gallery-into-your-message.html

You can also use 3rd party such as Photobucket, click the "share" link, then click the "img" link and just past that into the AG Post.

Any time one asks "How do I...." Do a google search with Mike Phillip's name in it. Odds are he's already written an article on how to do what you're looking for. :)

Hope this helps!

I'll check into making a video that shows a person how to upload and insert pictures to make it easier for people.

By the volume of pictures I post it can't be that hard but it does require a computer and a person has to learn a few things and that requires reading and thinking.

With Facebook all you need is a thumb and a phone. With a forum there's a little more work involved. The benefit to a forum is it's a better learning interface and anything posted to FB is more or less gone in about 15 minutes.

The problem with Photobucket and other image hosing sites is if a person uses them and then runs out of FREE space, instead of paying for more space they simply delete old pictures and then anywhere they shared the now deleted picture you get a red x or a graphic that says, this picture is no longer available. That doesn't happen when you uploaded them to your free gallery here on AG.

And yes... I have an article on this topic... actually two...

Photobucket and Missing Pictures

Another Photobucket Rant...

:)

Also...

Before you can upload the gigantic image files created by both cameras and phones, you need to resize them to a smaller file size. Again this requires a computer and reading and thinking...

I resize all my pictures and I post a LOT of pictures so it can't be

A: That hard.
B: Undoable.

Mike, I use the AGO Mobile App (iPhone) for 99% of my viewing and posting. Since the software upgrade I get an "upload fail" whenever I try to post a pic from my iPhone camera roll. Do you have that issue?

Mike, while you are looking at Honcho's issue as well as mine could look at the signature line as well, it is not being used as it should..please

I used to post pics all the time on here but something changed about a year ago when the forum was redesigned and now there doesn't seem to be the necessary "continue" button on the photo upload screen. I can get to the point where I've selected the file(s) to upload and then there is literally nothing else to do... just nothing happens. I've given up trying to share pics on here because I don't have time to troubleshoot this type of thing. I've tried from multiple computers and browsers. Hopefully you will get it figured out!

First time someone let me know the software via a computer is not working?

I post hudreds of pictures each week, sometimes a hundred+ in a day - so the software works for me (I'm an "Admin") but possibly not "Registered Users".

Thanks for the heads-up, we will get out vB Mechanic to look into this.

When I try to upload a photo to my personal gallery it goes through the process and says the photo(s) successfully uploaded but they do not appear anywhere in my online portfolio on Autogeek. I just attempted to upload a photo a few seconds ago to test. It just goes nowhere. Also, when I try to add a picture from the "Go Advanced" reply inside a thread there are no buttons in the dialogue box to select a picture. There is just literally nothing to click on to upload a file. If I go into the "Basic Uploader" I can at least select a file but after that there is no button to do anything else. It's almost as if my ability to upload content is blocked. Going back through my gallery it looks like I haven't been able to post a picture on this forum for several years. Maybe I'm shadow banned...

Here's a real simple way for us to troubleshoot. E-mail me a couple of the exact photos that failed to upload.

Thanks Mike. I spent some time messing around with everything and I think I finally figured it out!

It seems as if my new phone creates the picture file names with spaces between each word.................... I hadn't realized that that mattered for uploading to the forum but I guess it does. Thanks for all your help!
