How to prep trim for Blackfire UTTS?

so I know of course to wash and then use something such as the DP exterior cleaner all purpose. But I'd rather not spend $20 if I don't have to. Is there any other product or mix of chemicals I can use that will work? or just wash the trim and put it on?

I used the APC I had on hand. In my case, it's Poorboys All Purpose Cleaner, but I'm sure any APC will work.

After washing the car, I went around all the plastic/rubber trim with a rag and a soft brush and the APC to make sure it was as clean as possible. Once the surface was dry I applied the product.

Any quality APC is fine. Use a good brush, rinse, dry and apply.
