How to revive microfiber drying towels?

This is one of the primary reasons why I stopped using drying aids with my drying towels. Over time my drying towels became almost non-absorbent. When you are paying $20-$30 for PFM drying towels you want them to last as long as possible.
 
Yep, and no need for drying aids when you're using a PFM

And that is the generally recommended procedure when using vinegar in clothes washing. Think about it, mixing an acidic solution (vinegar) with an alkalai (detergent) would be counterproductive. The whole point of using vinegar to soften clothes is that as an acid, the vinegar will dissolve the alkaline detergent residues in the clothing material.

What’s the ph of a typical sealant?

This may sound dumb, but what difference does it make if the vinegar tries to neutralize the detergent? It’s not like the detergent is any good at removing the sealant from the towels anyways.

Both ways will clean MF’s but I have found in my experience that my towels come out cleaner when the vinegar is mixed in with my detergent. YRMV
 
I have always had great luck soaking with hot water and Optimum power Clean over night. Then washing as normal. The water after soaking over night gets nasty.

Even if you don’t use a drying aid, The contaminants(minerals) in the water itself can cause a towel to clog up. Depending on your water the degree of towel loading can vary.

I rotate about 6 drying towels thru my weekly process. Some of the towels are 6+ years old and still working great with the above method.

I do a version of this as well. I soaked them in a pad cleaner solution instead of an APC. I stumbled on this a while back while cleaning pads that I used to spread a sealant on. The APC I had couldn't remove the sealant and I had a bottle of Blackfire pad cleaner laying around... so I tried it. It took the sealant right off the pads. So if it worked for the pads then it should also works for the towels I used for the sealant removal. Soaked them in the solution for a few hours and wash them as usual then used vinegar on the rinse. They came out feeling like new. I stuck with that ever since.

This is what works for me and I am always open to new idea. Flysti is one of few forum member that I actually met and we actually worked on a project side by side a while back. I do trust his judgment.
 
I soak polish buffing towels in snappy clean. May try sealant towels.


Also used this with coating removal towels and the came out so good i still use for sealant removal

Waiting for my Twisted loop towels I got on sale then doing all my drying towels with this product , see how it works .

Rags to Riches seems to be the real deal. I soaked drying towels that were washed clean with Wolfgang Uber and the water had a yellow tint to it I suppose from the towels releasing stuck products. I hope Autogeek stocks it soon.
