How to revive microfiber drying towels?

I’m gonna need a lot more favorable reviews before I buy another P&S product. Brake buster is just ok. Bead maker is crap. So I’m skeptical of their entire line now.

Don't sleep on rags to riches. This one is actually a must have. Impressed with how it revived the 4-5 pluffles I have that no longer soaked up water. Maybe it will help that it is a collaboration between the rag company and P&S lol.

I do agree that this is not a thick detergent.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if all it really is, is a concentrated version of panel wipe, mixed with a bit of laundry detergent? Lol.
Something about it being so watery and having a similar color to D114 makes me think that. Lol.

Never tried Beadmaker. The BB is good if you maintain your wheels but not gonna work on anything grimy.

The Xpress interior cleaner is nice. Just cleans.

Compared to a normal detergent the R2R is waterery. Thicker than the Towel Kleen and Griots microfiber cleaner. Definitely alot thicker than water.

Glad everyone is seeing consistent results.

Lastly as long as it took TrC to come out with a Microfiber cleaner it had to be good.

Sooo.......... Update.

What do you think happened? Hmm...

I soaked a large Big Blue Towel, OG Large PFM, and 4 small PFM’s in a 5 gallon bucket 🪣 w/2oz. of R2R for 1.5 days maybe longer because I just didn’t get around to doing the laundry for a bit.

Wringed out the towels a bit and washed them along with the rest of my drying towels in hot water + 2oz. precisely measured R2R soap. I think I read somewhere that Coatingsrcrack said this soap is the thickest soap he’s ever seen? I couldn’t disagree more. This is the thinnest washing detergent I’ve ever seen in my life. It could almost pass for some blue Gatorade in that gallon bottle, that’s seriously how thin it is. Just a notch above water consistency. And by the time all my drying towels went in the washer it had knocked down just about all the suds the 2oz. produced. That initially raised some doubts.

Towels came out of the dryer smelling like the soap, which isn’t particularly a pleasant scent, but who really goes around smelling their towels, right? Towels weren’t any softer than normal, if anything they felt a bit stiffer than they normally do. Looking back that may be a good sign in the same way that paint can feel a bit tacky when it’s completely bare, which would be a good sign compared to any sort of residue or softeners.

Bucket wash w/Megs Hyper Wash. rinse, sheet, go inside and grab the Big Blue Towel and I’m not gonna lie, I was prepared for a let down.
I plop the dry towel on the roof of my Cadillac and grab it from each end and just drag the heavy towel along the roof and what’s the result?

Initial result indicated, fail. Here’s the roof panel after dragging that rather heavy drying towel across once, this is after it did the same across the passenger side of the roof.

So at this time I figured it was just my typical bad luck and it wasn’t going to work for me, but as I kept going around the car it did manage to catch up and by the end behave as it should drying to a complete streak free, bone dry vehicle. So is it just a characteristic of the towel needing to have some initial moisture to perform at its best? Or did the soap fail to revive the towel back to form?

I’d say if anyones to blame its the towel not the soap, because it did manage to quickly dry as intended which it didn’t used to be able to do. Seems like it just needed that little bit of dampness and then it was drying everything in its path.

Initial results of the R2R soap: Excellent.

Agreed with the smell being strong. Scents left behind always make me think everything wasnt washed out.

Also how did your Pfm’s come out?

I haven’t used any of them yet, maybe tomorrow morning I’ll find out.

Ok hold the verdict..... Because I’m not so convinced my PFM should perform the way it did earlier today. Last I checked they’re supposed to dry off a panel in 1 swipe or even 1 pat down, right?
Well my PFM was taking about 4-5 wipes and even then the panels weren’t bone dry.

I was drying a vehicle after a bucket wash that I had polished 1.5 days prior in order to prep it for lsp, so bare paint, but regardless I don’t recall PFM towels performing that poorly.... So I’m officially on the fence until further testing.

Fyi, there was no humidity at the time. If anything I was drying the vehicle in direct sunlight but it was only 65 degrees outside.

Yeah that’s why I asked i had streaking on panels also but temps were sub 40. I thought it might have been that. I’m going to test my 16x16 vs my 28x20 when i get some warmer weather

Ok I just did a quick test.
I washed my hood & trunklid, rinsed, sheeted, then grabbed 1 of my large glass waffle weaves that were still clean from my previous wash with 3D Towel Kleen and used it to dry.

Then I sheeted the panels again and grabbed the same large PFM that I had put in the dryer for 15min. and hung up and allowed to cool.

The PFM clearly outperformed the waffle weave... Could it be we’re setting our standards too high? I dunno, I’m still feeling somewhat inconclusive, but like I said, it did do much better than the waffle weave, which was a surprise to me.

It's not a surprise to me. I demoted all my WWs to glass and other duties once I got the PFM. Waffle weaves, at least for me, are now archaic towels of the past when it comes to drying

Nah the just show on their video that a towel that was completely hydrophobic and pushed water around dried a panel in the drag method after soak and a wash.

I just expect it to make my drying towels perform better per video. My panels were super cold so i kept it as inconclusive because other towels weren’t drying any better...

Ooo... Nice. I only have the gallon of it so a dispenser bottle would be handier for measuring it out even though I transferred some into a smaller bottle.

Just an FYI, those are called Bettix bottles if you want to order some of the dispensing bottles for your bulk products..

Thanks. I actually came across the name while looking for them. Most sellers that I've seen seem to be geared towards bulk sales so the cost of shipping a few is high enough that it's not worthwhile.

I’m seeing nearly all the sellers on ebay offering free shipping with an average cost of about $5 bucks per bottle.

With as much claylube, waterless wash, and APC I can sometimes go through, these bottles make things way more convenient.
