NOW, hopefully folks will NOW give UC a try.
I think just because one can get UC at almost anyplace, people think it 'too weak'. Now we (who use UC) can point to this post.
Good job!
Thanks and your right, it's very easy to find.
Bill
I wanted to post some before and after pictures of a car I did about three months ago, 2010 Maxima.
A good friend of mine bought this car a few months ago, saying it has swirls is an understatement.
The paint felt like sandpaper, I could tell it was ran though one of those automatic paint killers.
Here is how I got it and what I saw.

The pics were all of the hood, the entire car was in this bad of shape.
Maxi-Suds with 2oz of APC
Clayed, it took time
UC, yes I picked it out over my 105 I had to make it easy on me.
205 using a white pad
CG'S EZ Glaze
CG's Super VRT
Griot's Paint Selant
NXT liquid wax
Tool used was my GG6 DA
Job took my about 14 hours, just the exterior.
Now for some after pics.

Here is a video I took once I was done.

Thanks everyone, it's the love of detailing what makes us all tick. Lol
I'm one that if you bring me a car let it be trashed. Lol, all I get anyway.
Awesome results.
What pad did you use with the UC?
If they are trashed then you make more money.![]()
So I'm in need of a new compound and have been debating on Meguiars M101 and UC. Would I be able to get the same results using UC on a PCXP and an LC Orange Flat pad?
I have no doubt that M101 would knock out defects easily, but I know equipment makes a difference as well. If I can achieve the same results with UC on a PC, that may sway me more to the UC side since it's cheaper and OTC.
Thanks in advance.
Hate to be the pessimistic here.... but befores were sunshots, afters were non sunshots. Ive seen black finishes out of the sun look AMAZING but in the sun look ridiculous. Not trying to question any skills here, but do you have sun shots to back the before sunshots?!?!?!?
I agree. I use UC by hand on my paint thats soft and although it does correct swirls and looks great/ready for lsp, when in full sunlight (or at night with a cars headlights shining on it), you can see it needs to be refined by a light polish with white pad (AIO, swirlx or other polish product) to make it truly swirl free. But if its hard paint I could see it possibly finishing lsp ready..great results nonetheless.
I always follow up with m205 after using UC and get some amazing results.
First I do a test spot with UC, if the results are good I continue , if not I go to m105.
Always hope the UC does the job for me because of how easy it is to work with.
IMO UC is very much underrated.
I wish Meg's would tweak the 105 putting it somewhere between the two.
Nick sent me a bottle of Wolf's Chemicals polish after winning it, I tell you it works very well too, not much dusting, cuts well and wipes off easily.
I've never used m101 but have used UC many times.
If I were you I'd buy the UC and see what that does for you, you can get it anywhere for $10.00.
Yes the orange flat pad works very well with UC.
If it doesn't work for you it wouldn't be a big deal being you didn't pay much for the UC.
Tell you what, buy the UC, if you don't like it I'll buy it from you, I can always use more of it:dblthumb2:
