I can't stand taping before polishing!

I don't mind taping at all. It's just another part of the job for me. The only thing I really don't like to do is clean winshields. They are a pain to get perfectly clean especially in smaller cars with not much room between the dash and the glass.
 
I actually don't mind it. I used to help my old man tape off cars before painting and I always enjoyed doing that with him too.

Watching a painter tape off a car will make you feel like a complete noob too! :D


I can think of several things that I dislike more than taping. ;)
 
I've made mistakes even when I do tape off the moldings, so taping is an absolute requirement for me. I hate it too.

I hate laundry. Washing and folding a hundred towels in a day. Going over and refilling each bottle of product, replacing defective stuff, replenishing all supplies before a week of detailing...

I could tape in my sleep during a nightmare and still enjoy it more than laundry.

I actually enjoy everything you just mentioned...lol. I love the feel of clean high quality mf towels, I do hate replacing broken stuff though since it usually means I have to spend money.
 
So while we're on subject what kind of tape do you guys use & how much tape do you normally go through on a car?
