....When you witnessed velcro failure, were the pads recently washed and not allowed to dry? I've noticed steam coming off pads at times when removing the pads from the backing plate. I see it with 4", 5.5" and 6.5" pads and seem to notice the steaming action only if the pad was washed but might not be fully dry.
Feed back please
I had noticed that this was a problem quite some time ago. This is why I buy the LC VC pads from Poorboy's World. The VC pads can be washed on the fly and used hard while still damp. As for the 4" pads, the velcro separation happens from brand new of if they are washed and fully dry. I own over 150 pads so I am always careful to only take fully dried pads with me when I do a job.I've damaged a couple of 4" flat Lake Country pads where the foam became soft in the middle (both white and orange pads). I notice that the pads don't normally get hot unless the pad is damp from washing and not allowed to fully dry, then run at high speed to correct/polish.

Nice to get those locally when you don't have time to order. And at a good price it seems.
I am not so fond of the Soft Buff 2.0 7" either. The yellow pad separated in the center on the velcro back. The center plastic part melted and opened it up to the edges and you can slip your finger under the velcro all the way around on the pad. So it doesn't work well with loose velcro as you can imagine.
And in the process of that failure, I am guessing it heated up enough to melt the backing plate plastic loops and it was toast as well, wouldn't hold any pad from then on.
I am excited to try these HT pads now and will go with the 5.5".
Thanks for your reviews on these also.
