I gotta brag on Optimum Car Wax

RMM - You might want to call Jerry at Duragloss because he told me all DG topping products contain the best UVA protection contents money can buy....

Yea! I asked as I saw a painter do a spot repair and painted the area, sanded it and used 3M liquid wax on it and I was like, 'new paint shouldn't be waxed' and he was like "I do it all the time"!!

I also thought I read somewhere when Dr. G said that ocw was breathable?

Dr. G said that with heat curing you can apply it right away. This not only includes OEM baking, but also 60-90 minute 190 degree bodyshop bakes. If no heat treatment was used, he said he'd give it at minimum one week. :props:

Our UV tech is patented and over time with continued use it can migrate into the paint top coat to restore the UV inhibitors lost from the OEM clear.

Just got my rear bumper re-sprayed and my painter said that he used an accelerator and I can wax right away. No heat baking done.

And is that in all your waxes and sealant?

Thanks Chris...

I'm interested in hearing your answer for Jomax, as i have been using Opti-Seal on some family members cars this spring...

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE all DG products I have used to date. But I don't think they can make the claim below:

you are exactly right RMM, DG can't make it at all... I was just pointing towards your first remark where you said OCW was #1 because it had UV protection... I was just letting you know that AW has UV protection too.

I'm a little surprised by this since the gallon container of Aquawax I have doesn't mention UV protection at all. It's one of the reasons I switched to OCW. Knowing this, I'd still choose OCW over Aquawax having used both extensively.

Quick question on Optimum Car Wax, does it leave a white residue on black trim pieces? I like spray waxes that are quick and easy and don't require taping off all the black plastic trim parts.

No, it doesn't.
I actually use it on my trim pieces due to the UV protection.

No, Since Optimum Car Wax has no abrasives, it will not cause damage to moldings or trims. In fact applying Optimum Car Wax on these surfaces will protect them as well.

OCW should not be diluted for best results. I would feel comfortable applying it between the first and second drying passes of an ONR wash, but not as a drying aid as aqua wax is used.

No, the UV in OCW is the same used in OEM clears. The UV protection in Protectant Plus is a different kind. The resin used in Opti Coat and Opti Guard block UV inherently without the need of additives...and Opti Seal has no UV. We only have one wax and one sealant, but I answered assuming you meant our lineup.:xyxthumbs:

Thanks Chris! To bad O-S doesn't have UV protection... Just bought a whole bottle of it this spring... oh well... i'm sure it will be empty before i know it :)

Before I coated my car I liked to OptiSeal at 3 months and OCW every month. That's the best of both worlds!

I like seeing customer service like this ^ great job optimum / chris
