I hate the winter...

When I was a young kid , I could go out in the snow and bitter cold and play until forced to come inside by my mom or dad. Now that I'm in my early 60's, I detest cold weather and get depressed when I look outside and see gray overcast days. Even going out to my heated garage doesn't cure me of my winter blues.Looks like my better half and I might start looking for a winter place down in FL. Just need to make up our mind whether we will buy or rent. Thinking of looking in the Clearwater or Tampa area.

I was exactly the same way.

I still look forward to the change in seasons. Fall is my favorite season with all of falls fiery colors surrounding me. I do enjoy the first snow or two and we generally see it right around Thanksgiving time and for Christmas.

Today we have nearly 3 feet on the ground and I long for warm weather. January, February, and March are three of the toughest months to get through.

I can't wait for warm weather.......

We still have snow in the shadows. But hit 60 Sat., it was time to wash and try some new products. ARO(why did I wait so long to try this???) Love how this works. XMT spray wax, this stuff smells to good, easy on and off while drying.

I really don't know how you all deal with it up north.

I last washed my car on December 21st, the start of my mini-vacation for Christmas. Christmas eve and day we had snow here in N. Alabama. Got maybe 3-4" here at my house. Driving back to work the following Monday it got drenched in sand/salt/whatever else they threw out on the roads in a panic. No real wash because I can't remember it being higher than 35 or so for weeks and weeks. Foam cannon, go!

Fast forward a couple weeks, more snow. Crazy rare for us, something like 10". More sand/salt/random crud. Followed up with weeks and weeks of way below normal cold and rain when it got bearable. So my little pwny hasn't seen a proper hand wash in something like a month.

So this weekend it was beautiful, 65 yesterday and nearly 70 today. Saturday I spent some much needed wrench time on the car to thin out the growing pile o' parts and today I set about cleaning.

Holy ****, that was one dirty Mustang. Foamed, washed, foamed, and washed again just to satisfy my OCD. Rinse bucket water was totally black when I finished the first wash. I'm gonna buy a Jeep or something specifically for winter if this keeps up.

Northerners, you got my respect just for dealing with all that mess. :dblthumb2:

The winter here is bad. December was the coldest on record. This week is good upper 70's all week.Im the MAN

:wow: I cannot wait till Tues when the high will be 4 if we are lucky.

I lived in Houston and I can remember mowing my yard on Thanksgiving, with the fire ants with humidity and....waiting for a strong cold front to knock out the humidity. Oh well !

Man I agree, I'm so pissed off that I can not use any of the new stuff I purchased cause its either snowing or cold as a witch's T$T.

This is just one of 'those' winters...just keeps coming at ya.

I really feel for you all back east...trying to just get rid of the stuff is enough of a problem, let alone having one blast after another blast bite you again.

There's just one word for winter...SUX!

Bill

Well the east is getting hit again this week. Tomorrow we are suppose to get another 3-6 inches of snow followed by freezing rain. Then Wed we are suppose to get 15-18inches. So, I'm glad I booked my trip to St Maarten next week! lol

Please, rub it in.

Thankfully, our forecast is much better than that, we're only supposed to get 1-3 then the freezing rain, and then just a small amount of snow after that...although there is another storm coming Friday night/Saturday. Of course, that's the NWS forecast...which I sometimes think I can do better than by sticking my arm out the window.

EDIT: ARGGG.....I just looked at the "Winter Storm Watch" and it says 5-9...NWS can't even keep it straight between pages for my zip code..

Woo Hoo!, 7-9'' tonight/tomorrow. I on the other hand really like winter and have found some great ways to enjoy it. Our snow was getting a bit thin for cross country skiing, so this will be a welcome boost.

I think owning a Subaru with Blizzaks has something to do with my love of snow too:coolgleam:

:nomore:The weather man was wrong. He had said the cold front was to come thru this afternoon. Instead it came thru about 1am and the high tomorrow, Tues, now is to be -4. Yuk!

Thank you for that image...makes me wish for sunshine and palm trees!!...only 5 more days and I'll be on a beach in St Maarten sipping on a tropical drink. :dblthumb2:

Once I can get out of my house without owning tons of money I'm moving south! I hate the cold and snow!

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads are available in three varieties:

Cyan Advanced Cutting Foam - The blue foam is designed for compounding and swirl removal. This closed cell pre-polymer foam restores oxidized and heavily swirled paint. Looks can be deceiving; the blue pad looks coarse but actually finishes with no marring. You'll achieve an almost wax-ready finish in one step. That's another way the Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads save you time.

The blue cutting foam works well with Menzerna Power Finish PO 203 and Meguiars Ultra-Cut Compound. Both polishes have great cutting power and a clean, glossy finish. Use either polish/pad combo on neglected finishes and watch the paint come to life!

Tangerine Ultra Polishing Foam - The tangerine foam is made for light to moderate defect removal and polishing. It has the cutting power just below that of the Lake Country orange light cutting pad, and the tangerine pad leaves a finish like you'd achieve with a gray finishing pad.

Use a finishing polish or fine swirl remover to create a deep gloss. Menzerna Super Finish or Wolfgang Finishing Glaze are two excellent choices for this pad.

Crimson Finishing Foam - The crimson foam is designed to apply waxes, glazes, and sealants in flawless, even coats without causing swirls. The soft foam has very light polishing ability, making it a great choice for cleaner waxes, too. Since the crimson pad is made of Hydro-Tech foam, it does not soak up liquid waxes and paint sealants like some finishing pads can. You'll be able to cover more paint with less product. The crimson pad is a great choice to apply Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0.

Like Lake Country's other premium foam pads, Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads are made with high quality hook and loop backing. The pads work with a 5 or 6 inch hook and loop backing plate. The pads' size is perfect for a dual action or random orbital polisher.

The flat face of the Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads also helps to keep water-based polishes on the surface of the pad. The flat pads maintain full contact with the paint, and they have enough flexibility to hug the curves and contours of your vehicle.

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads work with any type of polish but they're pre-polymer composition makes them ideal for water-based polishes. Water-based polishes are used by body shops and paint shops because the oils in silicone-based polishes will interfere with paint. If you want a professional quality finish, water-based polishes applied with applied with Lake Country Hydro-Tech 6.5 Inch Foam Pads are the way to go. They'll save you time and polish!
