I love when an employee quits with out notice!!!

Chill out. Go sniff your Fuzion. Things will be O.K. :coolgleam:

Couldn't be treating him that good, or he would not have done that to you, better take a look at your own practices and policies toward your employees.

I like you and all Tom, but I agree with the above post. If you ignore its a possibilty then your in denial

Next time you find a good employee...in addition to fair wages, paid lunch, paid holidays.....try giving him an equity stake in the business. On a periodic basis (you decide monthly, semi annually, quarterly) if the business is profitable give him or her a bonus. I think an employee is more likely to have the same values that you have for the business and be motivated to work hard and stick around. If they see by the business succeeding they also grow financially...they are more likely to stick around. just my two cents.

Hang in there man!

btw: not sure why people are saying that you're not a good employer  That's a ridiculous assumption. Most people are lazy and feel entitled. I'd say that is the most likely scenario here.

On more than one occasion, I have seen co-workers just walk off the job without so much as a by your leave. Each and every time, it was not because they were being treated unfairly, it was because they either didn't like being told what to do or they were just plain lazy. Even if you were being treated unfairly, you still owe it to yourself and your employer to give some sort of advance notice, otherwise you're the one who winds up looking like the jackass.

i always tell my guys if u need totalk about anything or have aproblem talk to me .ive been running my company for 15 years i know how to work with emplyees. like i said these guys dont give a crap about loyolty..

I do not know how much you pay these guys but general labor types (work fairly close to minimum wage) are generally the least reliable. They are just as likely to quit for better money elsewhere. They are not likely to be loyal since they do not have any real reason other than out of courtesy. In many cases, it is best to just get rid of these types.

Most of the time its not based on tangible things but rather its based on personalities.

I very strongly disagree. Some people are just a**holes. Some "people" really just do not care how their actions affect or hurt other people. Or maybe he was so immature that it just did not occur to him that his actions would have any kind of negative impact on anybody.
