If you had to choose between...

Depends on what you are using. If it is a da, I would go with a flat pad. With a rotary either one works fine for me.

Really, what's the logic behind that?

I believe ASPHALT ROCKET is considering #1 below.

#1: Flat pad = more contact - DA could use the help more then a rotary could.

#2: CCS = less contact (less friction) (less heat) - Rotary could use the help of not overheating the paint

That is the reasoning that I am aware of

As CEE DOG said it is all about the contact with a da. As far as the rotary about heat with a flat pad, heat is not a concern for me when using the rotary, some feel it is, so there is a pad for everyones liking or reasoning.

Thanks guys. Maybe my next order of pads will be flat pads now.

I would vote CCS as you tend to use a tad less product. I have used both and either are easy to learn on.

I like flat, word on the street is that AG is getting 5.5" flat pads.....dont know when..

After using all of the pads, I REALLY like the Kompressors. I know, I know, it's not in the 2 choices above, but the Kompressors are really nice.

I really hope so, although I have an order from CG that has some hexlogic pads I will be trying out so it will be interesting to compare those with the CCS pads.
