I'm in a frenzy, help!!

Mark, why not get married? It may help settle you down...someone else will want to spend your money.

 Haha! FTW Algorithym! :applause:

Marks getting married!!

I come home everyday from work and re-arrange my products in perfect order. I shake them every night, sometimes twice a day. I grab my polishers and hold them for the hell of it!
What? I like detailing as much as the next guy, but this is bordering on neurotic. I guess at the end of the day it's better than having a drinking problem, but anything that is done to excess has consequences depending on what it is you're doing. It may not be purely monetary, but if you're staying home to detail your car instead of going to meet your buddies for drinks, then it's antisocial behavior that may lead to unintended consequences in the future.
I don't want to tell you how to live your life, but it seems at least you know you have some issue that needs to be addressed and acknowledging that is a step in the right direction.

It is truly amazing how addicting detailing is. Buying products, trying new products, learning about new products. The whole experience consumes me. Tracking the

order for plant to doorstep. I just have a modest 4cyl. Fusion. I think if I had a car I would really like to have I could get out of control. I mean I bought Fuzion and

Souveran wax just to compare them for myself. Crazy. Not admitting its a problem yet. Next spring when I get my Challenger might be a different story.

Not to be a smartass, but how is your dating/marriage life?

What in the world is wrong with me? :(

Well, Imelda, perhaps going shopping for shoes would make you feel better. :D

Mark, you're not the only one with product obsession. Some of us have been able to temper it somewhat and remain solvent. Barely. I buy the sales and BOGOs and wait for free shipping. I rarely buy on impulse anymore and leave stuff in the cart for a day or two and ask myself if I really need it. I peddle or swap those things that don't meet my needs or expectations.

We all laugh at our OCD tendencies but only you can determine if it's a disruptive problem. Try an experiment... don't wash your car for a week, let the interior get dusty, don't buy anything. If you find yourself coming unglued check in to a padded hotel suite and ask for the deluxe smoking jacket. :D

Bunky, what a rotten thing to suggest! ;) All my married friends suggest that to me because they envy my bliss and freedom. Misery loves company dontcha know...

Mark, if you ever consider that think of this... if it goes bad she'll probably end up with all your detailing supplies! That's after you swap the vette for a minivan. That oughta give you pause. :D

Well everyone, I'm feeling much better today! I think it was more so accepting the issue that got out of hand. It always help to talk about it, and you all have been GREAT!! My perspective is much better now, and I think I have a handle on it. :)

Good for you. The fact that you recognized it and dealt with says a lot.

Trading helped me keep a tighter detailing budget, as well as allowing me to try new products.
