Incredibly Cheap Finds

Ok, So, I feel like a jerk for even sharing this, but I am just so giddy. Maybe it still works but it doesn't for me. My wife has a Slickdeals account and I set up a "Microfiber" deal alert: it sends her an email anytime someone posts a "microfiber" deal. She was at work and got the email yesterday and she has alot of credit saved onto her account from selling some nursing school books last month.

The deal read: Amazon.com: WASHDRI™ MICROFIBER CLOTH LARGE Car Drying Towel - 32" x 20" Premium Waffle Weave MICROFIBER TOWEL for Cars - Ultra Soft Plush Fast Dry Towel for Pets, Sports, Bathroom, Hair & Kitchen Dish! Protect Your Car - BEST LOWEST PRICE GUARA

Through march 9th these are on sale for $2.99 each with the code "NEWSL299."

Now, she text me and asked and I said sure, grab a few... She just added three to her cart but it wasn't a major deal because I didn't think $3 for a drying towel was just ridiculously good...

Today she got the "shipped" email today, and I was reading through it.. check this out...

When she added three, it took 20% off each towel, before the 10 off code... So, the total is as follows:

Surely it's a price mistake, and I cannot get it to work again, but it may be a one time use code... I only posted this to see if someone else could possibly get it to work... Good luck

I tried it and it says invalid. The only record I can find of this code online, other than this thread, is in a post on slickdeals that I assume is your wife.

I did find another code to get the towels for a dollar, but it says it's expired.

She got the email from them but it was not her that posted it... I don't have a business! ha!

I was hoping that it was invalid for me because I had used it already. Sorry guys

Oh I guess I didn't read it all that closely lol.

Btw, to everyone interested in the pad washer instructions, I have not forgotten. It was a hectic weekend (fiance throwing up blood, you know, normal stuff). I priced the parts, then took all the pictures last night. I'll assemble them and post it today.

Family first man! Hope she's feeling better

I went to my local Advanced Auto, and they didn't have any Griot's by the gallon. I did find some other stuff at different spots though:

Target: Meg's White Wax $4.62
AA Bug & Tar $2.08(I bought 3 bottles)
Invisible Glass tool $7.90
Invisible Glass 3 pack of bonnets $1.22(I bought 3 packs)

Advance Auto: Meg's Bug Sponges $2.25(I bought 5 boxes)

Lowe's: Meg's 16 oz QD $2.19(I bought all 6)
Meg's Wash and Wax anywhere $5.19(I bought all 5)
They also have all of their wash brushes, tire brushes, and other detailing brushes at 50-75% off. I spent about $20 on different brushes to use for fender wells, interior, and carpet stains.

That's pretty lucky with lowes. My lowes doesn't even carry the wash and wax anywhere and the brushes and the best discount they have on automotive is 30% and that is only on one or two items. Is have $70 on a gift card from Christmas. I wish they had those deals! Good finds

I did grab a couple chenille wash mitts for doing my wheels while at Menard's. I grabbed the last two @ $0.99 each. They are stocking Goodyear branded car wash stuff instead of Carrand. Their large yellow waffle weave drying towel looks good at $4.99 each, but I'll check that aisle out until they go on sale.

BlueBeast: You feel better now???:D:D

Sorry I missed this before. Lol yes, yes I do. Was not taking either side btw, just didn't want the thread to dissolve into unrelated debate where everyone gets butthurt and starts sharing deals only with people of the same beliefs. "So who's Methodist and in need of a wheel brush!?"

C'mon guys let's keep this thing going!

i stopped by my local k-mart down the street (had to get some $ from the ATM) and they had the clay magic bars as well as the clay kit. they didn't have the clearance price sticker or any sort of sign near them stating so. i had the newphew scan them and they are in fact on clearance and the clay kit was $8 and the clay bar alone was $5. if you have a k-mart near you and they have any left scan them...

I went in to check this out, and sure enough you were right. Thanks man! :props: I picked up 6 of the clay bars (sans kit) and a Meguiar's 1-Step Headlight Restoration Plus kit.

I took pics of the other deals in case you guys are interested.

6 bucks holy crap! Don't know anything about the 3M one, thought I'd post it as well to be fair :)

Never used this, but for $2.50 might go back and give it a shot.

Not clearance, but a good deal!

People have been talking about the Lexol sales from various retailers lately. There were 2 different Lexol leather care products on clearance, but I don't know the difference because they were both sold out. But maybe they're in stock near you.

Feed back please Btw, do you guys prefer pics or would you rather I save space and just type out the deals?

Has anyone purchased the 12 pack of Foam pads on ebay that you can use for wax'ing and things of that nature? Its something like 90 cents from china or something -- Just Curious if they are worth anything or just cheap and fall apart the first time you use them

I'm curious, too. The price is so cheap, I figured it was really a way to steal my Paypal account somehow. I want to know if I'm being paranoid. :)

Yes to the photos. I lose track of the names of the stores from one day to the next and with the photos, I can usually tell the name of the store by the price tags in the photo.

I wonder if the Turtle Wax rinseless sale last year was a way to move the product off the shelves....permanently, because it didn't sell??? Does anyone know?

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

I have them and can say that they are definitely cheaper quality. They are very thin so using it with a dressing, it will get all over your hands. When I use it on tires, the foam will fall start coming off in chunks after 3 cars. For paste waxes they are decent enough. Biggest thing I noticed was the edging and the fact that it's a solid piece of foam. When I mean solid I mean there doesn't seems to be an "air pocket" in the middle of it like some other applicators. I hope that makes sense but I will say that I got mine for $1 and free shipping and it still being used for dressings and occasionally open a new one for waxes.

So its good for applying liquid sealants / waxes to paint and maybe some trim work like back-to-black on plastic trim things like that without falling apart? Maybe it was just the rough texture of the tire that caused it to start to fail

I also saw these on ebay

Ecolab Car Wax Applicator Pads Set of 3 | eBay

its a 3 pack and still cheap, but if they are of higher quality then may as well elect for those - What is someone gonna do with 12 pads anyway ya know lol
