Inside Griot's Garage

I wouldn’t bother with anything other than the 2” pads on the GG 3”. The 3” GG DA works a lot better with 2” pads.

I applied Griot's Black Shine last Sat and the shine toned down and here they are after tire cleaner dwelling and being sprayed off and wiped dry.

First pic is freshly applied last Sat and the next pic is today after cleaning, looks great! It's like two finishes in one. It may say high gloss but it can be manipulated

it depends on the pad and it's profile/thickness, i've used the GG 3" FAST cutting microfiber pad and was surprised on how well it did...

The LC 3" thin pads also allow the machine to do its job quite well. I use the 3" sanding discs on headlights, and it knocks the crud off in just a few passes.

For those that have bought these boss polishers, how do they perform with LC thinpro pads? Got a decent stash of 5.5 and looking at getting a boss 21 and the smaller plate. Do plan on getting a good selection of the boss pads but for time being.

I don't have any Thinpros that are 5.5", but judging by the 3.5" ones, they're very similar to the Boss pads minus the hole in the middle and I would assume they work and feel about the same. A bit of a firmer overall feel compared to thicker pads such as LC HDO Orbitals or Rupes pads.

Visitor shot me a video link of Joe using them on his boss 21 so that's a plus. Granted they were 6.5 not 5.5 I'll just have to buy a backing plate. That said wonder how lake country would stick to the griots backing plate...i know mike says try to stay with similar makes so the hook and look works best

I just want to make sure they will hold up on the boss 21 I'll be getting tomorrow or Monday

They'll be just fine. I use all kinds of pads with my Boss backing plate. Griots, Lake Country, Rupes, Meguiars, Megs microfiber pads, I've never had a problem with any of them.

The only thing you'll have a problem with is that Inerflex pad melting/delaminating after the 1st time you use it.

Bought the boss 21 pro kit off GG. Had more pads, and drying towels which I can use. Will be buying pads from AG later on so I can have plenty of them for this
