Interesting Hard Water Map of US

Not sure if that chart is 100% accurate. My water is 220-250ppm from my measurements and the chart says my area is moderately hard. Anything over 180ppm is considered very hard.

Nice map! Thank goodness I have a purifier. The first time I washed my Sky here I knew I was going to have to hook my hose up to the garage so it got the purified water!

Nice I'm in the extremely hard category!

Anyone know of a cheap water softener for a hose?

Extremely Hard H2O in Southern Ohio, yep, sounds about right...

But on the other hand they have the softest woman Im the MAN

:applause::haha:

Seems right for my area. Good thing my local detail shop has an RO/DI machine to fill up our tanks. Tried detailing with regular water once.....never again.

Do you know how hard YOUR water is?

United States Water Hardness Map, What is my water hardness?

Looks like im in the 3-4 range here in az...

Thank you for posting.

Looks like i'm in the "Very Hard"/"Extremely Hard" area, which I already knew but still a bummer :(

Oh,that's right.I have a CR Spotless

I mounted my 2 canister kit to a 2' by 2' chunk of plywood. It is mobile albeit a bit awkward to move around.
Eventually I would like to pick up the CR mobile unit.

Yeah, not believing that since it says I have extremely hard water here and we have pretty darn soft water. Can almost let my hose water dry on the car after a wash. Well, not that bar, but not one bit like my in laws in PA where all the fixtures have build up on them from water running and soap doesn't lather, but rinses off immediately in the shower.

It seems to be accurate for our water. It was between 7 and 8 grains hard.

I would guess the chart is measuring the hardness of ground water and does not factor in treated municipal water that supplies most homes and businesses in urban and suburban areas.

Interesting how the chart only goes down to "slighlty hard"

Probably best to check with your water supplier. My water is in the soft range.

I always thought my water was rock laden...now this proves it...

Depends on where your water comes from. I've got around a million gallons out back in Lake TL. Gets pumped into the house and chlorinated before sitting in a couple of contact tanks. Then it goes through a multi-stage filter down to 1 micron then through a carbon filter which removes the chlorine. Under 2 grains hard, clean, pure n tasty. :)

Wells in the country around here are deep and expensive if you find water. Most of 'em are pretty hard. This seemed like a better alternative. Especially in super-dry summers when aquifers are drying up and my water level is only down an inch or so.
