When your detailing the interior of clients automobiles, what do you do with the goodies that you find?.. Ex: Jewellery / money / important papers / lingerie etc ,,,, Is it my decision what is good or what not to keep? Hate to throw a childs 1 million dollar piece of artwork done in preschool away..
Do you put this in a small box / zip lock bag and leave it on console/seat with a note, or do you just throw it on the console and hope they see it or do you just throw everything away?
Trying to figure out the professional way of doing it as every vehicle is a surprise and you never know what is in there... sometimes its even alive..

Zip Loc bags. I buy a box of the cheap medium size and place everything in there for customer to go through.

I put my sticker on mine. Many will keep in car to put stuff in, and your number is right there as reminder.

Yes, zip lock bag. I put everything in one and then leave it on the passenger side front floor.

Same here........ Ziplock. I have actually had a couple of customers ask why I didn't keep the 10 or 15 bucks in change in the center console. To which I replied, because it belongs to you, and I would never risk losing the trust or respect of my clients over a few bucks.

Same as CFD...zip lock bag with my sticker on it and then placed on the cleaned passenger front seat. Even those old register receipts pulled from under the seat. It isn't for me to decide what's trash or not other than the obvious (e.g. paper straw wrapper). Another thing i do is try to remember what goes in the console places, power outlet holes etc. I want the customer to get back in their vehicle in a functional state as when they dropped it off. For example...he/she grabs their sunglasses from the console and then plugs in his phone for a charge or music.

If there are gas receipts all over and under seat I will throw them away.Any loose change credit card eyeglasses or there property I leave it on the front seat in a clear bag.If it's a nickel or a twenty dollar bill leave it ,it tells a lot about you.

I use a tiny (or medium) colored paper bag with a card stapled to it but I like the sticker idea better! Its like a gift bag type thing, I get them at the $ store @ 3 for a dollar. People seem to like it and treat the stuff in it like a gift!! "Oh I wondered where that went" or "I forgot that was even in here"

The bag stays stood up on their passengers seat for when they get in to look at the car.

Ty for the idea with the sticker on the bag (maybe a business card in the bag also). I always lived by the code of "what is not mine is not mine" and will keep a couple different size baggies for different amounts of treasure.

I use a small size garbage bag (the white ones for kitchen undersink canisters) and put everything in there except actual garbage.

The only thing I will throw away is stuff I am absolutely certain the customer will have no use from. So that excludes any form of invoice, bills, receipts, paperwork.

I like the ziplock bag idea. Will have to switch to that next season. Putting a logo sticker on the bag is a great idea too.

You, sir, are a gentlemen. Not to sound corny, but it feels good knowing there are still cool folks like you around.

I bought a bunch of those cheap fold up cubes used for storage at dollar tree. I leave one of those in each car I detail full of the stuff I find. Cost $1 each and gets lots of comments/compliments.

Seems like for about a buck a piece you could get those from one of those logo companies. They'd make a great trunk organizer, moving forward.

I only detail part time as a hobby. I don't have a logo just a facebook page and word of mouth. If I did it more I would add my logos to them and give them away same as I am doing now.
Great Idea though to add logos
