I have been looking at the menz polishes, and the nano has a gloss of 5/5, so of course that is the one i want, but is it okay to use on all types of finishes(new cars, old cars, and otherstuff like that)?

I would be very careful on soft clearcoats .. like Nissan. Others will find the ceramic technology just allows the use of one polish versus two. Before you would need SSR 2.5 and 1.0 to get the polishing and finishing nano can do by itself.

With exception of soft clearcoats (Toyota) which can be done by a less aggressive polish. I think that PO106FF is a little too much for it...

just my $0.02.

I thought 106FF had less or similar cut to FPII and was one of the least aggressive polishes ?? I'm asking because 1, I've finished fine with FPII before, and 2, what polish would you go to in such a case, least aggressive than 106FF ??

Final Polish has a cut level of 3 and gloss 4, where PO106FF cut lever of 2.5 gloss 5. PO106FF can work on all clearcoat, I'd be carefull with soft ones.
It (PO106FF) works very well on domestic and German cars.

Which one would be best for a 2007 Black Lexus

That question is asking for too much... no matter what car, the condition of the paint is what matters, and how hard that paint is to correct.

You should start with the least abrasive pad/polish combo you have, and go from there.

If you're wondering what to buy, buy 3-4 polishes from the same manufacturer (such as PG, SIP, 106FF from Menzerna) and buy a pad or two with 2-3 different cutting power...

:iagree: :iagree:

106ff is safe for all in my experience. I have 3 "Honda" soft cars of my own and they haven't been harmed at all by it. I use it to finish out the really soft stuff as it is one of the few polishes that will actually work without leaving buffer trails or micro marring.

I ended up getting the 106, i still think it is too strong for some cars, including mine. really the only reason i got it is because it has a 5/5 gloss. I wonder how it has a higher gloss if it is more agressive?

I'm having a VERY hard time understanding some of your posts... what does "more aggressive" mean in your question?? It is the least aggressive of the menzerna polishes...
Also, why do you "still think it is too strong for some cars, including" yours??? You haven't even tried it, yet you're thinking the least aggressive polish is too strong ??
Are you saying you can polish your car with Souveran and LC white pad ??

To sum it up, good choice on getting the 106ff, I used it today on an Altima with pretty soft clear and it worked great, with no buffer marks or anything...

I repeat from earlier, stop asking too many questions about a polish, and find out what works best for you through experience... even 106FF might not be to your liking... why? just because... good luck with the polish, and please stop assuming things about products you haven't even seen work in person, let alone tried yourself...

first of all agressive=cut,i thought that would be common sense but i guess not. Second of all, i happen to know my car, it has a soft clear with no swirls, i am just using the polish to exfoliate the clear, freshen it up. third, dont tell me not to ask questions, thats how i learn, i will continue to ask as many questions as i like. I dont have the time or money to just go out and try things, its better to learn from people that have already gone through the process. forth, you got your info messed up, 106 is not the least agressive polish, micro polish is.

First of all, it is common sense that aggressive=cut... and that's where you confuse me... 106FF is one of, if not THE, LEAST aggressive=LEAST cutting power, polish that Menzerna has... you said above it would be too aggressive, so I was wondering what you considered not too aggressive??

Second of all, if your car has no swirls, I would recommend going with something like Klasse AIO, or Meguiar's #3, #5, or #7, to freshen up the cc. btw, 106ff will remove almost no clear coat, especially when used with white pad and PC, so simply trying out 106ff next to KAIO and other such LIGHT polishes I mentioned, would be a good idea to see which you like better.

Third, I never said stop asking questions, I encourage you and anyone else to ask millions of questions... I said don't ask TOO MANY questions about a polish, because you will get millions of responses from different users... all these users have agreed thus far, that 106ff is a great polish and finishes down amazingly well... the only problem, if you can even call it that, is that noone can tell you exactly how that polish will behave on your paint surface...thus, you need to try out the polish, and see how aggressive, or not, it is for your car, and your clients' cars... and like I mentioned above, if you're using the PC, you might want to try a few different finishing polishes and glazes.

Fourth, as I mentioned in the "first of all" section :D, it's one of the least aggressive polishes, and while micro polish is listed at 2.0 and 106ff at 2.5, I HIGHLY doubt there's much of a difference, again, especially on a PC.

Just to add... maybe I'm a little biased towards the SEARCH function since I frequent a BMW forum on which there are 5-10 threads started daily asking "Where is the fuel filter?"

I feel that giving the search button at least 3-5 minutes of your time will give you tons of information most of the time, and save valuable web space on the forums

So again, I encourage anyone to ask questions, and I've personally spent 2-3 hours straight numerous times talking to noobs about detailing and explaining/answering every single question they had... I just think the search button has a very important role on the forums, because it allows you to locate and read through a very thorough and informative thread, that was previously posted by someone just like you, wondering about the same things... at times, there might not be such a thread, but 95% of the time, I guarantee searching will yield great results

good luck with your 106ff and let me know if you want to try the other stuff out

For reference, this pictures that I posted feature cars that range from soft to super soft. All were finished with 106ff and a rotary polisher except the first which was finished with the Cyclo.

Menzerna does have a polish with less cut. PO85RD with a cut of 1.5 and a gloss of 5 would probably be more to your liking but the differences are minute in the cut and no different in the finish.

I would agree with SpoiledMan. There is 85RD3.01, 85RD3.02 oh and the rare 106FA. If you can get your hands on 106FA you will love it, supposed to be better then 106FF. Now 85RD3.01 and 85RD3.02 are supposed to be great products too. I only have 85RD3.01 for now, but I'm egerly awaiting my 106FA :righton:
