is klasse AIO required before sealant glaze?

thanks for the tip. :) I am also in the 'potentially going to try the Klasse Twins' camp and appreciate your posts & this entire thread.

Just one of those "lessons learned" things from my experience with Klasse: it lends itself very well to a little bit over a longer period.

By that I mean that when I decided to try klasse, I used the AIO one day after a good wash/clay session. Then I stopped, since I knew the AIO would provide a level of LSP sealant.

The next weekend, I did the AIO again. And then I did the roof, hood, and trunk deck with KSG.

You can probably see where this is going....every time I washed the car, I treated a new "section" with KSG, Some evenings, I'd go out to the garage and just do, say, both front quarter panels.

Obviously, make sure the panels you treat are clean. I used a waterless wash if I was not applying after a full wash.

Make sure to keep track of what you've done. Eventually, I knew that the whole car had 2 coats of KSG on it. The next weekend, I did a full wash and finished off the whole car at once with the 3rd layer of KSG. And, interestingly, that 3rd layer made a very visible difference (this was also reported by other forum detailers at the time).

Anyway, just an idea - you don't have to do the whole car at once. I focused on getting the base (clay/compound/polish) first, then after the AIO went at it pretty much one panel at a time to make each one as perfect as I could get it. The end results rocked.

Awsome, man! Thanks. Btw, why do you dilute one part KSG in 9 parts distilled water (a 10% solution) for your Bimmer'wheels?

It was an experiment - I had about 1/2 bottle of KSG gathering dust since I'm using other LSPs now. I remembered that there was discussion a long time ago about diluting KAIO or KSG and using it as a detail spray, so I figured I'd give it a shot with the KSG and use it after I wash the wheels to rejuvinate the sealant on them, to see if it would keep teh dust from sticking.

In the whole process, they did get an inital treatment of KSG just like you would on paint.

It does seem to work. Here are the threads I posted about it, part II has a video:

I have some thoughts about Klasse's AIO/HGSG, but I prefer to defer to AGO Forum member:

Klasse Act...Hope he 'chimes in'; or, perhaps a PM directed to him?
Either way, I believe he will share his knowledge and expertise in this matter!

Thanks for the shout out but let me say this, I'm no Klasse expert, just took the name years ago as it was my first product that I picked when moving away from Mequiars, just a play on words in a way.

I agree with what everyone here has said too. Even though the car is new, proper prepping is key right from the start. I would absolutely use KAIO first, on everything including the glass to clean and prep your car for KSG. Now, KSG SHOULD NOT be used on glass, unlike KAIO, its very hard to remove from glass, so don't apply it to the windows. To get the most "bang" out of KSG, its a good idea to apply the 2nd coat 12 hrs later. This was told to me years ago when I first started using the product and it really does seem to make a difference in the appearance of the paint, not to mention another layer of protection too.

Now another "tip" for using Klasse products is to get your pad wet and wring it out. This helps spread the product out evenly and helps with using less product which is key to using Klasse products, especially with KSG where less is more. Doing this you'll find it much, much easier to apply and more importantly, to remove. Speaking of removal, once you apply KSG to a section, just wipe it off right away and move along to the next section, there's no need for it to set up at all. If you do this, it will be harder to remove and in that case, spray some quick detailer on your wax removal towel of choice and it will come off w/o a problem. The next "tip" is to pour the KSG into a spray bottle so you use less product and is easier to dispense. I use an old Griot's Garage 8oz spray bottle and know this, if you pour the product into a spray bottle, its not going to "spray out" like other liquid products, it will come out in more of a line and what I use is about 3-4 lines for a section, just make sure that your applicator is damp, makes things so much easier.

Enjoy using Klasse products, they do a great job and you'll be happy with the results for sure:dblthumb2:

I think it would be ok to do a good hand wash and clay bar to the car, then apply some quick detailer afterwards. Obviously make sure the car is pre-washed before you start applying the KAIO and then the coat of KSG afterwards but please, leave some time 12 hrs later to apply that 2nd coat of KSG, you'll be glad you did.

BTW, what color and type of truck did you end ordering?

Cool that's what I figured. Black sport crew. Lovin the first 20 miles lol.

Irregardless...Your "tips" are most helpful. I bet I'm not the only one that appreciates them, and your willingness to share...As witnessed below:

Ha, forgot I wasn't on the ram forum lol. Ram 1500. Ya I'll post some pix after I spend a little klasse time on it ;)

Congrats on your new ride Dave but know this, the Klasse will make your Ram shine great, so great you'll see the excessive amount of orange peel in the paint too, sorry to say but as soon as you said what type of truck it was its the first thing I thought of. I'm sure everyone wants to see pics of it when your all done, atleast your getting on it right away, key with any vehicle, especially black!

It's not orange peel, it's PIAE (Paint Induced Aerodynamic Enhancement).

If that is the case then topping it with some Nuba should fix that ya?

Also after claying I didn't see any orange peel, the paint looks great actually! Maybe I got lucky.....

Well you must have because every Ram I've ever seen has HUGE amounts of it, really stands out to me but then again, maybe the new ownership of Chrysler has really listened and/or noticed these things and have done their homework, good for you Dave! How about some pics?

Looked at the photos in the other thread - looks good!

But I see the orange peel, even in the photos. On those that are a bit closer, look at the edge of the reflections of straight lines - the jaggedness you see is because the paint isn't perfectly level. The first photos is a good example, because you can compare the reflection of the side-view mirror in the paint to the reflection in teh window - you can see the window reflection is much more accurate. Note there really isn't anything you can do about this (short of wetsanding the whole car, a bit crazy).

Believe me, I'm an expert as seeing this, as I curse the water-based paint BMW uses (that contributes to this significantly), every time I wash/detail my car....

was talking to the paint manager at the best local body shop in town, and asked him about it....he said he's seeing orange peel on lots more vehicles now as a result of the efforts to be green....

Gotcha, one of the nice things about not being an expert is a don't notice as much and it just looks good and shiny to me!

The downside of being OCD about the shiny-ness of the car - you see every flaw.

And I'm far from an expert, I meant I'm an expert at noticing it now because my car has it so bad....now, my wife's Lexus is flat and smooth like glass. Makes me crazy.

Anyway, looks great!

I know this is a bit of an older thread but I just used Klasse AIO for the first time this past weekend. Applied it using my PCXP with a white hex logic pad. Turned out great but I found the removal to be a little tough. I wasn't quite sure how long to work it before wiping off. Do you work it until its almost gone or do you wipe off while it's still wet looking? Used it on a 2011 that had been freshly washed with CG Citrus wash at striping strength and clayed.
