I havent seen that.Anyone notice a pronounced orange peel with these coatings? I used Nanolex on the roof and opti-coat on the rest. Both made a more orange peel look than before. Maybe I am just loosing my mind!! Children and lack of sleep can do it.
:wow::spamFind a product you like and use it often
This is a little saying I came up with just now![]()
I think waxes are considered "old sachool" buy people in the know, unless you are talking super high end products like Swissvax and then those are boutique. People who don't know any better will go to auto barn and pick up a wax thinking they are protecting their cars.
Then the price wars will ensue, bottles will get smaller and I believe the birth of single use ampules will be born. Technology is great !
I can barely hold the tiny bottles now! Please no smaller!I believe these new Nano coating will eventually edge out the conventional sealants in the short run. These nano coating will continue to get better, easier to apply, more resistant to wash marring and environmental issues (iron, bird poop) and longer lasting with better self cleaning and water shedding properties. Then the price wars will ensue, bottles will get smaller and I believe the birth of single use ampules will be born.

Coatings in my view are for the the "set it and forget it" crowd.
I agree with you, but want to add that you can play with the Coating toppers with an enhancement to the coating. Car Pro ReLoad, G|Techniq C2 or Permanon. These boost durabiliity and enhance hydrophobic behavior. Also add a glass like smoother surface IME!For those using the new coatings, I would not top them with another sealant or a carnuba wax. It serves no purpose, and makes no CENT$. Once you top a coating, you are taking away the advantages of that coating. Some would argue that you can never have too much protection when it comes to paint. I disagree.
Coatings are not for everybody, especially those who are always applying new products and experimenting with whatever the new flavor of the month is.

100% agree but this commentary was geared to this audience. For those using the new coatings, I would not top them with another sealant or a carnuba wax. It serves no purpose, and makes no CENT$. I agree that we wont forget. Try the boosters I mention above !I don't really think this is the case. I have it (haven't had a chance to use it yet since I've been gone for 3weeks from home) but I got it for the purpose of adding extra protection to the clear coat. I have no intention of applying one of these (I have both) and not touching the car again. I really think these coatings were designed for the people that truly care about their car at which point I feel they will be the ones to continue regular upkeep.
