Is Sonax a good brand?

Till this day, still haven’t tried it myself.

I can see myself buying all there stuff just based on there products being featured on Competition Ready.

A while back I asked the same question and the mass response is, “YES!”

German product.

From the people that brought us the diesel engine, U Boat, Autobahn, V2 rocket which led to the Apollo program..........

Yeah. German tech is nothing to sneeze at. Thank God they like their paint care as well......:buffing:

This. My mom has a 1994 S-class with 0 paint maintenance done, barely even car washes done, and the paint has held up like a bullet.

Also just the fact it's like, detail supplies, I don't think people buy those used or new from someone.

Did you ever sell them? I just posted some on an auction site. I hope they sell.

If you could get somebody to give you $10 for used, opened detail supplies, take it and run. If they're unopened, you might get somebody to jump on the whole package at a substantial discount.

That's what I'm thinking. I have like $90 worth of stuff at $30 starting price. I think even at 30, it may not sell. Oh well. I'll likely end up tossing them in the garbage.

Just taking up space. I need that space :)

And yes, Sonax is good. I like their stuff.

Sonax Glass cleaner is the best I've ever used. Also, Sonax multistar apc and car breeze are great!

The only tiny complaint I have with PF is the dusting compared to EX 04-06 which doesn’t dust for me at all.

Not sold as of this post but 2 people are interested so we'll see if they come tomorrow. I listed all my stuff at 50$. Here a picture of what I'm selling just for reference. It's WAY under the original purchase price... oh also there is a CG claybar that isn't in pic.

PF is even better. More refined abrasives.

Hmm what I have heard is that is the same abrasives in it. The polishing oils is what different PF was made for rotary polisher to get a hologram finish that is the refined abrasive. Ex04-06 is made for suit DA polisher and got the polishing oils to suit that. They wanted to use the same abrasives since it's worked so well with the PF on DA too. But the polishing oils in PF is most usefull on DA and soft finicky paints so they wanted a more versitale polish to DA.

Interesting, but if PF works best with a DA on soft paint, why not use that? If it will finish very well on soft paint, then it will finish the same or better on other paint systems.

I think that with the polishing oils in ex04-06 you get a faster cutting and finish on normal to hard paints. With PF on soft finicky paints you get a cooler and a longer working time.
I have both of them lol. And sure PF will work good on other paints too with a DA. But as you know some compounds and polishes excells on certain paints.

Thanks for the insight. I use PF for final finishing on any paint, and 1-steps on soft paint. Even though I use a long throw DA, I still think PF is better for me than EX 04-06.

I know you weren't. FWIW, the head of Sonax development told Todd Cooperider of Esoteric that the abrasives are more refined in PF, not just the polishing oils are different. Just food for thought.
