Is this a scam?

I have gotten several text messages that are all very similar and just wanted to see if any of you have gotten the same thing? I have turned a way the work for two reasons, I am mobile and I think it`s a scam. I am going to list the text messages I have gotten including there phone number:

1st one:
+12627776214 - Hello, this is Jeff, i will like to know if you do car wash and do accept credit card as a form of payment??

+12627776214 - Good, I want to to wash my cars which is 6 cars inside and out, and i have made arrangement with a private shipper that will bringing the cars down to your shop for the washing so i want you to kindly get back to me with the Grand total cost for 6 cars inside and out washing?
Me: We are mobile only and do not have a shop
+12627776214 - Okay but can you get me in touch with someone that has a shop or can you still be able to wash the cars around your area of residence

2nd one:
+12627776214 - Hello, this is Jeff Cox, Please i will like to know if you do car wash and also do you accept credit card as a form of payment??
Me: Yes and yes
+12627776214 - Good, I want to to wash my cars inside and out which is 7 and i have made arrangement with a private shipper that will bringing the cars down to your shop for the washing so i want you to kindly get back to me with the Grand total cost for 7 car inside and out washing with detailed
Me: I do not have a shop. I`m mobile only
+12627776214 - Okay please can you kindly get me in touch with someone that has a shop

3rd one:
+13343108156 - Hello my name is Scott,i wanna know if you offer Auto detailing??do you accept credit card as method of payment?
Me: Yes all major cards
+13343108156 - Good i just bought a house in your state, so i want Exterior detailing my 5 car`s and i have made arrangement with a private shipper that will bringing the cars down from Louisiana to your shop for the exterior detailing so i want you to kindly get back to me with the Grand total cost for 5 car?
Me: I`m a mobile detailer and not interested

Last one and I have gotten more they are all very similar:
+15512093246 - Greetings..... I`m James Williams and i will like to know if you available for car wash and do you accept credit card as a form of payment?
Me: Well do accept credit card. However we are closed on Sundays. What`s kind of detail are you looking for and what type of vehicle?
+15512093246 - Okay i want to wash my cars and i want you to get back to me with the grand total cost for my 6 cars
Me: Do you need them waxed? And interior detailed? What`s the address to detail at?
+15512093246 - i will need your adress to bring it over
Me: I`m completely mobile. I don`t have a place for 6 cars. Sorry
+15512093246 - ohk sorry
 
One of the reasons why I hate texting! Its probably a scam but did you try calling them?

This sounds similar to an email scam that was going around last fall

It would've been funny if you had immediately called him back via FaceTime just to tell him "straight cash homie" lol.
 
Definitely a scam! He wanted me to do 12 cars for a "dealer". When I told him I didn't take credit cards, he told me it is so easy and there is an app for it. He pushed really hard for me to download the c.c app. I declined and never heard from him again.

This is a scam....Do not respond and block if you can...

Your next email will be from a Nigerian Prince who has money held in customs, but it will only cost you $10,000 to release it.....i'm just shocked you had to ask if this was legit.
 
It's a scam! It was also posted on our Detailing 101 by Autogeek Facebook group.
 
I knew its a scam but I am just trying to figure out how the scam works.

they want your info, they also want to have you make a payment eventually to them, on a bad card they use to pay you, it's convoluted and its basically a really backwards way of bank/cc fraud.
 
Fist off, yes I did post this on autopia forums. Next off I have been playing this last guy to see where the scam is at. and it is a bank/cc scam.
I have called the number and its a go-text.me number I think the person that is texting is using a translator to send me the texts. So I have been sending him more texts to see how the scam works. So here are the latest:

Me: I found a car lot I can use
Me: Your looking at $150 per car to wash wax detail inside and out
Me: My address 200 se 3rd ave (our address to our local police station)
+15512093246 - it ok send me the grand total for 6 cars SUVs 10:49 AM, 7/10/17
Me: $150 x 6 is $900 how fast don't you need these done. I'm Booked most of this week
+15512093246 - it ok no problem we can work it out
Me: When are you going to bring them?
+15512093246 - but please i will be seeking a favour from you i dont know if you can so we can proceed (here is the scam)
+15512093246 - one week time
Me: What's the favor?
Me: What's the make and model of theses cars and are any of them exotic?
+15512093246 - The favor is regarding the shipper guy i contacted he does not have a credit card facility to bill on me and i do not hav cash ata hand to give him so i will like you to help me add his fee to your service fee so you will be charging the total sum of $2150 when the funds clears into your account you will deduct your service fee $900 and also a tip of $50 as a tip to help me send the remaining $1200 to the shipper guy vian bank cash deposit
Me: I like to be paid before Service. What's type of credit card are you going to be paying with?
Me: I have not heard from you are welcome still on?

+15512093246 - I have both visa and master card
+15512093246 - but once you ready, am gonna confirm which one has the available balance to run the transaction with you
+15512093246 - i bank with 2 banks
+15512093246 - so i have one visa card and one master card for the other
Me: Send me your card number and I'll process them giving you a transaction number
Me: Well have a local bank that you can use
+15512093246 - Do you understand that you will be running through my card the total sum of $ 2150 so once the funds hit into your account you will deduct $900 as your service fee and also deduct $50 as a tip while you help me send the remaining $1200 to the shipper uy via bank cash deposit
Me: Yes. I'll wait for it to clear my bank First. Then I'll provided your driver with a cashier check for $1200
+15512093246 - Okay before we proceed i will like to know the name of the credit card merchant processor you will use in running through my card and also how many days will the funds take to hit into your account

Ill post more as I get it...
