for a large car sales company. I was laid off recently, and while I'm taking a cut in pay, I will be doing something everyday that I love. There is decent money to be had once I learn their system and can finish a detail in less time than the "book" says. I will only be using a rotary buffer and I will be taught how to wetsand, as well as mix paint for touch ups. There is room for tremendous growth within this company, so we'll see how it goes. I'm pretty excited! :buffing:
 
Congrats! Hopefully it's the type of company that actually cares what the cars look like when they leave. I've worked for plenty of dealerships that have "detailers" that are paid less than 10 bucks an hour to run dirt towels all over a car. Sounds like thats not the case here though, so good luck!
 
Congratz Mark!!! With this cold weather here in PA I may be appealing to the dealerships for work through the winter.

Oh, I will be making way more than 10 bucks an hour and I will also be "flagging" hours as well. All the cars I looked at on the lot didn't look like hack jobs.
 
That's got to be exciting. Congratulations. Hopefully they will be open minded enough to let you share the knowledge you have too.

Congrats! I hope one day I can work at a good detailing shop. Right now just doing friends and family cars.
 
Congrats on the job Mark! I hate to say it buddy, but you may want to invest in some glaze now. I highly doubt they are going to let you finish down like you're used to doing. In the line of detailing your getting in, you can make a lot of money by volume. Best of luck and I hope all goes well! :dblthumb2:

Why is this? With the cutting and finishing ability the random orbital can attain nowadays, it should at least be considered a viable alternative. I know you are aware of this, but perhaps they are not?

Slap on the Dynabrade attachment and tell them you prefer the size and shininess of your "backing plate". :props:

If its anything like I picture in my head, you just don't know how much Mark will be bringing to the table. Question is, do they want to take it to the next level

Maybe I'm wrong on how they (high volume) operate these days, but I doubt it
